I actually believe the City when they said the 12-hour tours were in the Memorandum. I truly believe Scumbag Vinny is buying more time to get more ppl in for more votes. I believe the city have bargained in good faith this whole time & its scumbag Vinny fucking over his own union members. He going push this to the end of the summer, few more classes in, then hell accept 12 hour tours & think hes some fkn hero.
Thats the most insane comment ive seen. If you think the city is bargaining in good faith then Sgts wouldnt make less than cops. Its that simple. The city wants us to pay to fix something that fundamentally shouldnt be happening. regardless fo whos fault it is, in a department with such low morale, youd think bumping those 1200 Sgts to top pay would be a no brainer, but instead here we are two years later and city wants 5 minute wash up...
And all theyve asked for besides the 12-hour tours is those 5 min that no one gives a shit about. You need to be able to supervise your cops, that includes working the same hours. This is pathetic. Accept the 12 hours. Tisch is getting rid of them soon any way.
When youre only give back is agreeing to a tour to efficiently supervise your cops, that sounds like the union is the one negotiating in bad faith. SBA got everything we could possibly ask for, still not good enough for the pockets of the few superseding the pockets of the many.
Screw 12 hour tours. The city needs to realize we arent going to do them. The only reason the city wants the 12 hour tours is because it screws over cops. During a 8:35 tour, you get 1 hour meal and 40 min of breaks. During a 12 hour tour you get 1 hour meal and 40 min of break, so it means the cops work more (hence the city gets more manpower out of us). If they want us to work more, than pay us for it!
Cops get 1:30 meal & its our responsibility as supervisors to make sure they do. There should be three SGTs on tour to split the tour. The third who gives each a 4 hour break so that everyone works 8, I dont know the staffing in these precincts with the 12 hour tours but I dont understand how 3 SGTs splitting the tour into 8 hours each is so hard. 1 Sgt starts at the desk, 1 Sgt Starts on patrol, 1 Sgt starts on meal. Meal Sgt relieves patrol at 4 hour mark, then relieves the desk at 8 hour mark. Desk does 8 straight like they normally would, patrol Sgt gets a break in btwn, the floater Sgt covers the desk at the end making sure all recaps & BS reports are done while everything else was already taken care of.

The problem with this is that it works for patrol. Vinny and all the other losers on the board haven't been on patrol in over 20 years. This doesn't benefit Vinny and the gang so they're against it UNLESS they get paid for it.

So when you say says 1 hour of meal and 40 minutes of breaks. Ive never done anything but patrol on this job, and i have never seen anyone in my career go in for a 20 minute personal break (if thats what youre referring to). If youre just referring to our current 1hr 40 minute meal disregard, i misunderstood.
Im not disagreeing that the city shouldnt throw the 12 Hr tours on us, but with that being said, we need people to be realistic about what actually is beneficial and not beneficial when it comes to us on patrol doing the 12 hour tours.
Lets be honest about what would actually happen for patrol though? They will find some new bullshit detail to send that 3rd SGT too. It will be one desk and one Patrol SGT for 12.5 hours with no meal break. I personally think the 12 hours tours just do not work for this agency.

Yea stand strong while I cant buy a house & live paycheck to paycheck with a baby coming because you dont want to work less days a week n a couple more hours a day which we already so as it is, fuck me though, stand strong while everyone else collects top pay & will continue having it.
It definitely is low but I think we got spoiled with the first year if they did about 15 a month the rest of the way the list would be finished in the usual 4 yrs. It definitely sucks especially for all of us that are starting to get closer to promos.
