Not looking good for Captains this month. Sorry guys. But hearing a large amount of lieutenants. Since we are over captains we need them to promote a bunch to DI to get this list moving again.
With the terminal numbers counting as vacancies there is still enough space to put 10 in. So lets hope for that and a ton of DI promotions in the near future
It will keep moving, there is a big shortage of Dis, so once captains start getting promoted it will keep moving. Also some very big classes in 2024/2025 that hit 20 years, I would anticipate some retirements as well.
Im sure some of these are people who dont want the rank. Correct me if Im wrong, but unless you plan on doing 5 more years on this job, it doesnt make sense to take it. 3 years to
Top pay, then a complete 4 years to have a full year of top pay. And then at that point you should just stay the extra year to get DI pension.

Everyone wants the rank. Not everyone wants what comes with it.
Is it safe to say that there could be a high probability that the Dept. will get through at least 125-140 a yr....... High 300's at the end of 2026????
