So my buddy the Janitor just informed me that 250 might be going in January, the rest of the list going have to wait it out for awhile, take that with a grain of salt.

Two weeks. Think of the chart time you'll lose in those two weeks

How long do you think it will take to realistically burn through the first 500 names?

 That would be incredible

We will likely see more than the normal 200-250 in 2024 since they are down approx 150 LT right now. Should be similar to whats happening with the Sgts list. They around list #550 in 8 months. Took almost a year and a half to get to that number for the 2017 sgt list.think they were down around 500 when they started hiring off that 2022 exam

More retirements are coming. 12hr tours is expanding. Theyll hit 300 for 2024 for sure, but I truly believe well touch close, if not 400.

Heard 300 or higher from a different source. Perhaps wishful thinking .

I think a class of 100 is unlikely. If theres 150 vacancies theyre not gonna erase the vacancies and have an excess of 50 Lt in just two months. Ill predict a tops of 75 for January. No source, just speculation

I agree I think they will ease in with a class of 50-75 most likely and end the year around 250ish and probably do another 200-250 for 2025 depending on the vacancies and how many Captains they promote

I agree, but I think we should start with predicting January before we start predicting 2025 lol

Now that we Know the list is out and its looking good for 2024, a little off topic but guys lets keep our people safe for the holidays, for some reason this time of year has historically been tough for cops getting hurt. Anyone with a little bit of time on can think back and see that this has been true for our Department as well as others across the country around this time of year. Maybe the holidays bring out craziness in society and were there to deal with it, anyway stay safe.

2017 LT list first class had promotions in the beginning of the month, 6/5. Any chance its possible to have a begining of the month promo for Jan?

Doubtful. What would be more relevant? A promotion date 6 years ago? Or the current schedule of bmoc classes? I say end of January. Never know though.

Current LT BMOC of 2 ends second week of Jan. Job can put a class on Jan 10 and have them attend ceremony on Jan 26.

Congrats to all who made it. Original list size was closed to 1500. Last minute scaling was changed. Anyways. There is a January Lt class scheduled. 70-105 is the number. Gluck

This sounds about right. I was being optimistic for 200 by class 3.

Arent Lt promotions almost always before bmoc and not after?

Reasons for Passover: Jammed up, CARB, Restricted/OutSick, less than 2 years in Rank, Retiring, Voluntary Pass, less than 96 credits. List of 1218 youll have 50-100.

I agree.  There are a bunch on here with the money and a few with 20+.  I can see 100 being eliminated or retired which will essentially have this list around 1100.

With Passovers and the amount of vacancies I agree.  The first 150 will be promoted by March latest.  I can see 30-40 every other month and maybe 1 or 2 back to back months. Which will get this to 400 ish.  After that itll slow down dramatically like the captains list.  Everyone will get promoted but this list will run the 4 year course.

We need a good lad or gal who can volunteer and update this list as promotions occur, people retire/vest out, passovers etc.

I wonder if the first class will include any remaining holders from old list?

hoping not. they would have promoted them with the other 2 last month, since the job expected this list much earlier.

Theres always a group of holdovers that get held until the last possible second, and get promoted with first class of new list.

Remember, the job expected list for last promo. They only put in 2 holdovers. If they had more , I believe they would have done in. This list did not hold them up in any way

Could be the jobs last way in messing with them. Make the last few jammed up holdovers sweat it out as long as possible

You guys are really on something. You think the job has time to worry about jammed up people; wants to play around with a promotional list; just to mess with them.

You either never were jammed up nor personally know someone jammed up. Im not trying to insult you, but I can guarantee you that the job purposely holds ppl til last second as a way of punishment.

if you get in trouble, get suspende/modified for a year, go to trial and pay your penalty. Do your one year of probation. Stay out of trouble. Why other reason could justify continuously being skipped for promotion?

Good ol PC Kelly days. That guy would keep you modified as long as he pleased. CARB? Good luck passing on first try. I dont think the job is fucking with them right now, and I do agree if they were going to promote them, they wouldve last promotions, therefore imo the next class going in will contain only new list ppl.
