I know everyone is anxious to be called but for many many years the job has sat around 400 vacancies and functioned. The fact that they are in the 200s was bound to cause a slowdown. Im not trying to burst anyones bubble but to think that they could do continuous 75 person classes is unrealistic.

Once the they put in 3 large lt classes, they will be caught up, and will cause another slowdown for Sgt classes.

People complaining over one down month after multiple months of historically MASSIVE classes is crazy. In the past youd get like 250-500 sgts a year with classes being like 40 people. Dont get used to this 75 every single month til list number 4000 makes it. The multiple big classes early may have ruined some peoples expectations here.

Rank doesnt mean shit right now. Majority of cops are making way more money than their sgts currently. All you cops waiting to be promoted start learning how to be a patrol sgt again or your cops arent gonna respect you.

No change on numbers as of today . I will return tomorrow with an update tomorrow. Finest should drop Wednesday . So if nothing changes by tomorrow sadly thatll be it unless they do something very last minute.

Last month the numbers changed slightly the day before. It never went from 0 to a large class. No sgts this month, as I stated three weeks ago

Things change so much with this job on the daily I dont even know. I was hoping Lionel would have some update for us today, but its not looking good. At this point we just have to wait and see if the finest drop tomorrow

I really dont think the vacancies are as high as we all think with the steady flow of resignations and retirements. Less POs=Less SGTs

Thats what I mean. The fiscal year doesnt start until June or July. They already have 500+ for the year. I can see them waiting until the summer or fall to start promoting sergeants again.

Theres like 100 pos who just hit 18 months in db and will be getting their shields. Maybe this is part reason for the down month for sgt. I think sgt will be back up and running next promo
