You do loss your longevity, its time in rank. friends and family have been promoted with this exam. Dont believe me wait until yah go to BMOC and they will explain everything. I dont write on this unless I know what Im speaking about. Ive seen their paystub first hand.

Theres a chart that shows pay for time in rank and time in service aka longevity. So unless the chart is lying to us then it doesnt seem correct youd automatically lose your longevity. There is a difference in pay with longevity when going from PO to Sgt.

This isnt true at all. My boss is a rookie sgt with 10+ years on and I asked him, he gets the 10 year longevity.

I know 2 people with 8 years on the job. They do not get longevity

so I asked my close friend that is stuck at step 4 for the next 4 years he was made a few month ago. look at his paystub no longevity or Neighbourhood police police. either I need to tell all my friends that got promote to see if they getting cheated on or your boss lied. he also didnt do any over time due to personal reason.

Your earlier sarcastic reply to me aside, I dont think youre trolling, I think youre genuinely confused and refusing to accept criticism on your incorrect information. I think the other poster is correct, you are confusing longevity with service differential which you need a specified time in rank for.

Longevity is now and has always been based on time on the job regardless of rank. Yes, the amount varies by rank/contract but its always based on total TOJ. The very paystub you are trying to use as proof clearly shows longevity that we all get (provided you have at least five years on of course).

This has been the case since I first got promoted over 10 years ago. Also, you keep bringing up neighborhood policing which isnt even part of this conversation and has nothing to do with longevity.

The way I interpreted this was based on OASYS website where it says on the dashboard on 2) Performance and Seniority Test Pending evaluation . Assuming this could be points added to test (Longevity , medals, JST and Run ). not totally sure but if it changes it could be they calculated wrong .

Can a pending CCRB (not pending charges) get you passed over? I noticed a few cops from the August promotion got passed over because the CCRB says "Pending Charges" But what about a pending CCRB case, that you sat for the interview but it isn't closed yet? Should those cops start calling the PBA or do anything else to get it expedited?

To my knowledge its pending CCRB Charges thatll get you passed over. I know people whove been promoted recently with open ccrbs so you should be good as long as they havent came down as charges.

You can still be promoted even with pending charges so long as its not for excessive amount of days (less than 19 i think it is) and what the actual charge is

Still wondering how late list number in the high 2800 2900 got moved up....for example Julia ayamar is #2918 and is currently a sgt on patrol. Think got promoted in this past class.....anybody has any idea???

DCAS screwed up making the list originally, many didnt have veteran points added, as well as jst/medals. The list was updated and many people moved up, resulting in a list number .5. So for example, the person mentioned above, new list number is 2245.50.

This is available online through OpenData.

Do math in reverse. Minus your seniority, raw score and youll be able to tell. The curve was posted somewhere here.
