Someone with a mid 300 list number just received an email from the PA congratulating them on passing the sergeants exam but do not qualify due to college credits.
Job email? Personal email?
Highly doubt this info. When i took the exam , i received an official letter from DCAS with score. No emails. If score isn't posted on dcas site i call fake info
The test was last summer. If you knew you passed and didn't have enough college credits. You should of been getting everything in order while you was waiting for the "official score"
With the recent release of the Sergeant Exam; prior to releasing, the city, DCAS, and NYPD sat down. It was all agreed upon, the test was somewhat unfair and not properly administered. Also, the department understood they will continue to lose officers to other departments, especially individuals who passed the test. DCAS decided to throw out EVERY question that was protested, absolutely NO CURVE, just throw outs. Hence, if you went to the protest, submitted documentation to back your argument, question was completely thrown out. Questions that were thrown out WILL NOT be released. Also, a few hundred people who are on the list ALREADY left the job and have no plans on returning.
Furthermore, with the recent new contract and implementation of longer tours, more supervision will be needed. Every sergeant position WILL BE FILLED. First class of this test will be at end of month, a massive amount of newly promoted sergeants will be going to IAB and inspection units.
Overall, now more people are signing up to take the police exam, which means more officers on the streets. Within the next few years, the NYPD will most likely be back at around close to 40k UMOS. With this plan in place, Mayor Adams will be re-elected unanimously and another massive contract in place. In all, every sergeant WILL GET PROMOTED off this test, SBA members DOUBLED!
I highly suggest those that passed the test, start writing up them medals and take the fitness test each year for the extra points. Get ready for the LT exam and stay ON POINT!
(This news is coming from a person with ties to Adams, police commissioner, and many other high ranking cabinet members).

This is the fakest news that ever was
Can not get more fake than this. I laughed after I read this.
Get ready to get yelled at by your CO because you took a bullshit major.
Its all good, all part of the game. Regardless of what comes with the rank, Ill rather boss up than to stay a cop my whole career lol. I dont want to be dealing with collars, hospitalized perps, foot posts, etc. the older I get. Ill play the game with any CO instead lol.

Good point.
Got guys in my Pct with 20 or close to it stressing out about getting a collar. The games different than years back. Senior cops arent take care of as much. At least not from my perspective.
I only have 5 years and change on, but the little time I have on, its very obvious that senior guys arent treated the best. Its a no brainer to pass these promotional exams lol. From a cops perspective at least, it looks like its much better on the boss side lol.

Nah, being a cop in a detail beats the balls off being a boss in a precinct. Now, boss in a detail is a different story

take it from a cop thats in a detail, its not the same anymore. We get a shit ton of details now and have the daily all out plus all these random parades and MFFs. Obviously it beats patrol but it isnt the same anymore and theyre using admin cops a lot more for shit.
Let uncle c set the record straight, the job aint what she use to be. The old uncle was in a detail for a brief period of time as a cop. I left my office for 1pp security and for major details (e.g. potus) .now a few short years later I see that cops and bosses are both being used fairly often for details. It doesnt matter where you are. Unless you have a rabbi youll get got.
I found this on this forum in another thread. Can anyone vouch for this?

If you need a college degree follow the steps below.
The goal here is getting a degree quickly and at the least expensive cost from an accredited institution.
The traditional method of attaining a degree has become obsolete.
Step1 :apply for a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts at Excelsior.edu Liberal Arts allows you to transfer the most amount of credits.
Step 2 : send transcripts from the NYPD and all colleges you attended to excelsior
Step 3: wait for your credit evaluation
Step 4: review credit evaluation MAP planner. This will tell you what classes you need. If you need assistance PM me.
Step 5: use sophia.org a monthly based college. accredited institution to fill those classes you need based upon your MAP planner ie. Ethics, college algebra. This website allows you to take self paced classes. They are easy and there is no proctured exam. Understand these are only Lower level college courses. I finished 5 classes in close to 3 weeks and then cancelled my subscription once my transcript was updated.
Step 6: use study.com or coopersmith career consulting to fill other requirements....speak to your counselor before buying from websites and Confirm the class will fit the requirement.
Step 7: you are only obligated to finish 3 classes at excelsior. Doing this will drastically reduce the cost and save you a significant amount of time. I just completed my Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts through Excelsior University and am now eligible for promotion to Captain.
Any questions PM me.
I can vouch. He helped me out and currently i'm wrapping up the last few credits i needed for my Bachelors.
wow its getting real out here! I would imagine that june and july will be big as well, maybe not 200 but you def want to beef up the rank for july 4, jouvert and the summer in general.
Yea, theres going to be a huge influx of sgts coming soon lol. For those of us who make it in the first few classes, were going to have a lot of people under us in no time lol.
