This guy Dr Papi literally throws out general statements, is wrong more time than not, and sees what shit will stick. When hes wrong he claims it was a change Thats what I was told or blames the job.
NO ONE knows when our list is dropping. And Anyone that has any concrete Intel sure as shit is not posting on this forum. Its reckless and straight up wrong to give a false hope and date to cops so desperately awaiting a promotion, or hoping they make the cut.
The reality is the 2022 test was filled with many problems: day 1 vs 2 debacle, many IAB logs still being dropped and investigated and a poorly written test with several throw outs and double answers to be decided on. It was a difficult test with not many passing raw scores, and the job needs sergeants. Determining how many exactly that will be, and how big/ if there is a curve will be to ensure a large enough list and future headcount attainable, unfortunately takes time.
The new PBA contract while great and long overdue, also complicated things. The department and city is still dealing with a staffing crisis, and are deciding how to operate with a smaller department as far as cops and sergeants go. These significant raises for cops will force the city to work with a smaller department and might take some time to decide on how many sgts they want to promote.
Nevertheless, Congrats to all that passed doing it the RIGHT WAY. Our time will come. Lets hope for something sooner than later but we also need to mentally prepare that this could be a while, and the Mid March List out soon Dr Papi promises might not be a reality. Until then, be safe, stay out of trouble, and look out for one another. Were all weve got.
Well spoken brother. Just be patient man. Summers coming try to enjoy some family time and freedom. My last summer was shot living and breathing the patrol guide. I got a 73 raw not the best but it is what it is. I wish the best of luck to everyone here and hope this list drops ASAP. As far as sergeant goes From what im hearing the rank blows with the amount of liability you pick up and dealing with cops that can be careless or have no regard for you. Gotta enjoy the good part of the subordinate ranks as well. Lets see what the future brings.
Exam will be curved all. Settle down. The end is near.
I'm respecting the guidelines and going to ask DRPapi1983 if you even know what a curve is. You're giving hope to people who are praying that a 65 will make the list. there are 3 examples of curves that are used.
1. A Flat scale curve.
2. A Bell Curve.
3. Linear Scale Grading Curve.
I found this online because i have no clue how to grade a curve and what method DCAS will be using. You got so many UMOS on edge because they believe in your info. I think that you should respect the guidelines and stop lying to fellow cops.
The curve applied to the 2017 Sgt Exam was a flat 0.231 points extra for every question you got wrong.
This Exam will definitely be curved. There's no telling how much extra they will give though.

Thanks to our sources we have some answers in regard to your sergeant exam.
It seems that DCAS decided to scale your exam. Scaling is done whenever there are exams with multiple versions; it allows for fairness whenever one version is deemed harder or easier than a comparison exam. In your case the test was scaled up.
Each question you got right was worth 1 point, however, for each question you got wrong you were only deducted .769 points. Attached you'll find a formula showing what your raw score was (pre-scaling) and what your final score should be (prior to adding points/medals)
For those of you who remember what your raw score was pls IM me to confirm this further.

And that got the list to 2600 names. Were already at around 2400 names from the FOIL.
Curve or not. If the list is huge it means nothing. You can only realistically promote so many people. If the vacancies arent there. Theyre not there. After they fill them thats it.

Good source told me curve is a yes. 62 will be the passing score . Take it for what it is worth. I am confident this is factual information. List will be similar In size to the previous sgt exam and they believe everyone on the list will not make it due to the sheer sz of the list.
Thats what they said back in 2018 when the 2017 exam list was established!! not everyone was going to making it !! Cops are soo dumb that they spread COVID saved many from that list. COVID did not save anyone , 2017 exam was a huge list and they all were going to make it regardless of COVID. This list will be similar and everyone will make it !!!

62 with throwouts?? Or by itself ?? I guess 61 might not make it??
Hey I got a 61 and Im pretty nervous about making the cut on this one. Does anyone have any information as to whether a 61 will be a passing score on this exam and more importantly do you think everyone on this list will make the cut? I really want to be in a great position once this list comes out. Thanks!
No body knows if you'll be made when you're at the bottom of the list. Typically list cuts after 4 years and with a big list it is unlikely.
Even if you do make the list you have to be high enough to be made within the 4 years to be safe.
Don't put all your hopes into passing, accept you have failed and if you do make it, accept you may never be made unless you have above 2000ish rank. If you made make it due to all the unknowns, than be happy about it, but I would not living your life hoping that miracles happen.

As Ive said to other users on this forum, specifically Dr Papi, I personally find it pretty messed up to tell someone with a failing score that they will definitely make the cut. It could set several people up for a huge disappointment, based on you knowing nothing. I heard from a guy who heard from a guy who read in his group chat, isnt solid Intel. Reality is you dont know, and anyone that does- sure isnt posting in this forum. Im not saying there wont be a curve, Im just saying I think we should all hold off on making bold statements when you dont know anything.
The only solid Intel we really have comes from @KeyCapt. He was right about several topics from the very start of studying including no inbasket, test dates, location, etc. He recently said around May, so lets hope thats true.

Thanks for this. But at the same time it's OK TO GIVE positive thoughts and statements to those who are either sad depressed or hopeless if they failed this exam. I believe a positive thought turns into a physical manifestation. Negativity only brings misery and more possible depression to those who are already depressed. We have enuff stress on this job to deal with but something as important as this will help.uplift many.
@Passit100 Of course, I recognize and agree we have enough negativity and bad vibes on the job, with the public, media etc..
I'm just making the point there is a clear distiniction between being positive and hopeful, and promising people who failed and are so desperatley hoping they make the cut, that they will, when we really dont know.
I'm not 100% sure on this number but I beleive per the FOIL list (which already includes throw outs) there are already approx 2500+ passers. Dipping down and curving to the low 60s is a bold prediction.
My hope for everyone who studied hard and did it the RIGHT WAY, is that they pass and get promoted.
Reality is we don't know if/what will happen. Lets hope we find out soon. Be safe.

No FOIL. No promotion
2500 already make up a list. More than enough.
Remember not all 2500 on that list are not even on this job anymore. Plus One of the cops on that list passed away . I'm sure that number is preliminary. It's NOT final. With all these sgts either retiring leaving getting demoted or promoted...2500 isn't FINAL nor is it enough.

Lol dude most are still on the job. I got a 61 and highly doubt my name is on that list.
