They going to curve it regardless, look at what they did with the Captains exam. This is beyond ridiculous, you dont need more than 2360 people on a list. Thats already massive to begin with. This hurts the guys/gals who scored low 70s and dont have much seniority. Puts them at danger of not even getting promoted, which is ridiculous. Having people who scored low 60s who will leap frog legit passers. I dont understand what goes through the heads of the people who makes these decisions smh.

The ppl who scored in the 60s(some of them) worked JUST as hard to pass this exam. I understand ur point completely but I feel they shuld get a fair chance

Bro, who cares about that. The results are the results. Im sorry for sounding harsh, but its the truth. Im sure there are people who worked very hard to become doctors and never did. Thats life unfortunately, regardless, the curve is coming so it dont matter what I vent about lol. But its ridiculous tbh

They did get a fair chance, people who failed didnt take the exam with blindfolds on or any kind of compromise lol.
If those numbers are correct, Day 2 ppl would need a curve not Day 1.
That would not be fair though and dcas could get in trouble for that....if they gunna curve they have to curve EVERYONE that took the exam.
He says curve/changes. Yes, I saw that but he didnt say raw and I know when I made a foil request I was told they didnt have raw figures and I would have to wait for throwouts before passing stats could be provided.
I have a stinking suspicion that those numbers may be with a curve or throwouts. There's no way they curve a list this big. It'll be expired before they could promote everyone.
Those numbers are not raw numbers! Those numbers either include throw outs or a curve. Something has been adjusted, it's been over 7 months and we only get raw numbers, something is up.
And only 108 passing out of 2,150 for Day 2 AM. NOPE!!!!!!
We sat for that test and we are talking to other cops, these numbers are wrong and are manipulated in some type of way!
At this point you can't trust anyone...DCAS or NYPD.
And... if these numbers are correct there will be no need for a curve, just a few throw-outs and that's it.
However, they will still curve it to hide the issues concerning this exam just to quiet the storm.

This is what I've been thinking. Maybe dcas fucked up and could've left out that's with curve ND throwouts....it's possible.

they should implement the following,
you passed with or without throw outs, you get seniority, military, etc points
you passed after curve, no additional points, so you cant leap frog anyone that passed without curve.

Interesting
Exactly! Why would they give u RAW score info. It's not final until changes are made.
Glad to see the thread has been reopened. These numbers reflect a 23% passrate, rounded up. I doubt they would curve a test with such a high pass rate.

People with a 57 got contacted for military. Kind of improbable to pick up 13 points on throw outs without a curve
Like Hennigans stated, DCAS verifies military points after throwouts/double are applied. Given that this was released a week after the deadline to verify, the most logical explanation is that these numbers are after throwouts but without curve and everything else, given how badly written day 1 test was.
"I have a feeling these numbers include throw-outs. He says nothing about raw data and only to changes/curve (military, seniority, jst, medals, etc)."
So you are saying less then 108 people out of 2150 passed on the 3rd session before throw-outs and a curve? Must have been a crazy hard session to take the test. Seems fair right?

5% pass rate on Day 2 after all the answers were online doesnt make sense, so either the numbers were reversed, throwouts were applied benefiting Day 1 the most, OR everyone on Day 1 is crazy.
I cant answer to being fair, and you shouldnt burn any brain cells thinking about fairness. Its the City were talking about.

Or Day 2 had a much harder exam and needs to be curved accordingly. Questions weren't the same no matter how hard you try and convince yourself.

I HIGHLY doubt day 2 exam was much harder than day 1 exam. Those exams were almost identical. Maybe day 2 cheaters got caught with their pants down when they relied heavily on the answers that were circulating through out chats instead of going with their knowledge of the Patrol/Admin Guide.

I hope not tbh
I hope they do like I said alot of ppl in the 60s put forward a huge effort with the expense of not spending time with their families or on their own personal lives. Let's please try to keep hope and positivity alive for those who are within that striking range. Those of you who did pass....guess what if the exam gets curved YOU MOVE UP EVEN FURTHER. the ones who initially failed will be placed on the list but I doubt will jump over anyone. Someone who passed with a 70 curve can give them 77 plus longevity or whatever boom 81...someone with a 60 curve gives them 70 add in whatever will prolly go to like a 75 something like that. So.please don't think the curve will ONLY benefit some it will benefit all ESPECIALLY those of u who did well.

Most of the questions for day 2 were similar with little adjustments

Oh you took/saw both exams?
Also be smart, no way that would account for that large of a deviation.

Or the numbers simply arent accurate. I dont blame George, but why would DCAS release info a week before a LT exam being given on two separate days unless it in somewhat justified there reasoning for giving another exam on two separate days. They had raw scores in September, why did it take them 6 months to release this data? It tells me these might be numbers that include throw-outs. If questions were different like your stating its possible that the other three sessions had more throw-outs then another.

There were a lot of people who passed who also sacrificed time with their families. There were also people who scored low 60s and high 50s who put no time into studying. Point is the line has to be drawn somewhere. Its not fair to a jr cop who barely passes and gets jumped by a guy who has all the extra points and scored a 58. Its possible not everyone gets made if there is a huge list. Where do you draw the line?

EXACTLY. I understand Passit is in a position where he would benefit greatly from a curve. But we have to be honest with ourselves and see things for what they are. Curving/scaling exams is not a good thing, and is not fair at all for those who actually got a passing score. You know how heartbreaking it would be to get a 71 on an exam, have hundreds if not thousand(s) of failures pass you and not make the cut because of it. Thats messed up, and if you think theres nothing wrong with that, idk what to tell you tbh.

This is true I did say that some did put forward an effort and still failed and there are some who didn't put in an effort and ended up failing to. I'm just saying that the ones who put in the effort to actually try to pass and failed should get a chance to be on this list. The ones that didn't put the effort in listen it is what it is. But make no mistake the curve is going to benefit everybody nobody is going to jump over you if you already passed you are already on the list and you already have an advantage over them. So for those of you who already passed I really would not worry you're definitely in good shape. Where I draw the line is I would like everybody to just be positive and to also give hope to each other because at the end of the day this job can eat everybody alive but if we all try to be positive with each other try to look out for each other not putting each other down everything will be okay. I'm sure that there's some guys in here that put that effort forward and failed in our slowly starting to lose hope into ever being something on this job but we have to come together and just keep that hope alive. Sorry for the rent but we need to be a little bit more positive when it comes to things like this.

Like I said in my previous post those of you who passed you are in great shape and you will not get jumped over I promise you that's not going to happen to you. I saw this first hand on the 2017 exam those who got curved did not jump over those who originally passed the test those who originally passed the test not only benefited from the curve but got promoted way faster than the ones who got curved after they failed..... and I'm not the only one who's in a good position to benefit everybody in here especially those of you who passed will benefit even better from this curve than I would

Its not about me, I got an 83. People will pass me of course, but not the people who failed, Ill be in a solid position regardless. Im taking about the principle of all this buffoonery. You cant make promises, because you dont know what will come out of all of this. At the end of the day its out of our control. We all have our own perspective and opinions on these things. Thats ok, good luck with everything tho bro

Exactly my point you got a 83 which is Awesome by the way the curve if implemented would put you close to a 90 somebody like me will not jump over you believe me LOL good luck to you too
