the reason given was that those 2 questions were not suppose to be on the exam and DCAS still included them.

I was looking for one grammar error question i noticed in order to contest it, but I didnt get it wrong. My score still went up by two. Thats why i found that assumption to be doubtful.

Department officially under 34000 UMOS now. Budgeted manpower is 35k. I think the city doesnt care about a 30 vacancy rank. Only executives care cause some have been COs at precincts for years. They want to leave. They are creating the rumors that the department is desperate for Captains. About 8 commands are open in Brooklyn but they dont have anyone to fill it with. XOs dont have enough time in rank. Adams saving money not filling the vacancies. He doesnt care. List out in two months. Promotions in spring. Stop the December rumors. Promotions in December because of the Chief retirements and promotion in January to clear the Sgts list. My prediction.

Yeah the sgt vacancies are at like 500 now. Does anyone honestly think we will ever fill that? Keep doing more work with less personnel. Especially if youre a cop and havent had a raise in five years.

list is 200 plus. will last a good three-four years. not many were added to list with throwouts. i dont know why people on here are throwing out bs intel to give false hope. and yes the list is at 1pp they are doing seniority and JST additions as we speak thats a fact

and totally agree. it is a bottleneck thing that will go on. they have shot out promos like never before and exhausted lists. their will be a bottleneck effecting all ranks soon because no one wants this job anymore. no cops--no bump ups. that being said they always exhaust captain lists. always.

For the military guy who had his score bumped by two points, it was a mystery thing. The score you now see on the dashboard is the final raw score. If you didnt get a 70 or over, it is over.

Hey, I have a quick question for you guys who got promoted off the 2017 Lt's Exam. Did DCAS' website have a dashboard then? I came across a post where Tony (RisingStar founder) made a comment about extra points added to their scores. I'll attach the screen shot.

My 2 cents. Dcas will not have the list ready in the next two weeks. They take off from Christmas week through New Years and the list is out early to mid January.

From what I remember, there is a whole thread somewhere here for one of the ranks where someone does a good deep dive explaining that a company was contracted by the city to scale these exams. It explained a lot and was very controversial at the time. Its in one of the 2017 exam threads, unfortunately I dont remember if it was Capt/LT/Sgt

I agree. They are not perfect but remember, hardly anyone showed up at protest session. Ask around. You only pick up question if it is SUCCESSFULLY protested. So shame on You if you failed and DID NOT ATTEND the protest session. Why hope when you didnt do your due diligence SMH.

i Believe if there was a curve, the list would be more like 300 than the low 200 size we have been referring to here. Based on intel out there, curve is not part of the equation.
