Post protest decision

This was my first time protesting or finding out my score so early so im used to just waiting forever and finding out my score whenever dcas says its time. Now that we have protested the questions, how long is it usually until answered are reviewed and actual list is established?  And are we still waiting for people to take the test?

DCAS does not care that the NYPD needs Captains. They still have their own process and procedure to do.

Cant believe Im about to say this but DRPapi is right. The job needs Capts asap. people are retiring/vesting in droves. Based on the attrition rate, By may or june next year, there will be about 100 captain vacancies. Thats a two whole years worth! Plus there is a looming fiscal crisis thats why people are locking in their best year salary and running for the exits..dont have to be rocket science to figure this one out.

The hiccup is DCASthey could tell the job to just figure it out, we are not speeding up our process for you. The list will come out when it comes out in May/June.

Oye, loco, TVB is gonna convene in middle of October. So far no one knows anything about throw outs.
1-2 throw outs wont make things better. It will be a bottom heavy list.

Depends on the year. Late 1990s over 1000 Lieutenants would take the exam. Then the rank got shittier and only a few hundred would sign up, hence why they gave the exam in 2010/2012/2013/2014 in  such quick succession. 2017 I believe  was close to 600. This year it was 706, more than last exam but not the most to sign up.

Because what other job can you make 200k a year with absolutely zero skills?

Do you think well see less people sign up for the Capt exam to the point where theyll have one every year again ? Almost every cop I speak to wants to stop at Lt. Theres no desire to be a Capt from what I see. Most use the logic I can have a better quality of life and still make more as a Lt and not have to deal with compstat or other Capt BS
