I agree. I studied all of mikes material religiously. I could practically teach a class but got a 69. This test was trash. Not a single investigative encounters question. Math question. 1 BS BWC question. I feel like if we took the 2017 exam we wouldve faired better.
Idk if you took it day 1 or 2 but they did go to investigative encounters
but the question was mixed with investigative encounter/transit in the stem
i do agree with BWC, the way mike went so hard lol I would have expected more. That should be more of a 3-4 shield not 5
Mike tends to teach new, important material with emphasis. During the 2017 Sgt test prep, he went pretty in-depth on TRIs. I believe there was two questions on TRIs. Same with the 2015 Lt test, he pretty much thought the entire test would be on CIMS. i dont know how many questions there were but it was not many. Unfortunately it takes going your first test to understand the ins and outs. I was fortunate to pass the 2017 test and have implemented my own study method. While I do pay attention to Mikes system, every procedure must be read so youre at least familiar with it.
and they always ask a math question (related to COMPSTAT).
in retrospect, I wonder if people would have preferred the in-basket?
There was zero math question on this sgt exam
and I agree with you, I am happy to have come out with an 80, but I will study differently for LT
Nice job. For the next test, using rising star questions in addition to a school is an incredibly wise move. Also, make sure you know historically tested procedures to the point where you can practically recite them line by line, and you're g2g.
For sure adding rising stars to my studying plan for LT.
Just to also answer what someone else said about studying differently.. i got a raw score of 77. Yes i am happy with my score, but i am absolutely studying differently for the LT exam. I did do some rising star questions and 2 practice tests, but next time im doing every single section and all 4 practice tests.
in regards to patrol guide, like someone else said, cover to cover multiple times. Highlighting possible questions. And lastly, never second guessing myself because there were several questions i changed to the wrong answer. Its a learning experience for all of us. With that said, there is going to be a ton of throwouts. If you failed, even with a 65, it is definitely not over. Lets pray for a curve/plus the city may want a long list to stop people from leaving. We will hope and pray.
