Stop with the nonsense. Every company has pluses and minuses. For the cops crying about the sgts exam. how many of em read the goddamn guide? And you think the key gave a better effort with their captains packets than yano? Go look at the keys 212 packets. 2 questions on aircraft violations, really? Or how about the fact that in Active Shooter the Patrol supervisor verifies that ESU, TARU, HNT, BS, EMS, SRG, CRC is coming yet the key packet stated that the Patrol Supervisor confirms that it's just the ESU, TARU, HNT, BS AND EMS. Seems like #OneManShow consistently proofreads his material unlike the collection of experienced executives at The Key.

Week 1 the key didnt even have enough time to get to captains in 202.for a captains exam lol.

End of the day its on the studier.and you are at the mercy of the keyboard of the exam writer.

Although I do agree that Mike's questions for his Captain's course sucked (because he rarely had any Captain's questions), I can't fault him for my score. I passed, albeit with a 71, it was because I read the entire patrol guide cover to cover. I didn't score higher because I failed to do the Rising Star questions (which is huge disservice to anyone studying right now).

Mike is NOT to blame for anything, he's a guide. It's up to you to read the patrol guide and admin guide and focus on what you may feel is important.

In the past I use fast track and failed hated it. Yano was the only good quality instructor. Passed the Sgt exam with just Yano. Lt I needed Elite amd Key questions. This time around stuck with Yano, hes proven and the elite guide is close to none. However key did not offer question app and was highly disappointed. Elite was geared towards sgts and Lts so I needed a supplement but no supplementing reading the actual elite guide (my salvation) and sgined up for RS once the price dropped. I did sign up with Key at the end with the deep discount but lets be realistic was too much, basically gave them my momey but did not use any of it. Elite and RS was were it was at sorry Key. If you dont read lines straight from the PG you will not pass an exam like this when studying from cliff notes. Key us just cliff notes with no actual PG lines. Yonos packets are prioritized cut and paste from the PG with emphasis on the important stuff and key concepts. Thanks you Yano and RS! RS though can be a mind fuck need to realize that the entire test is not a trick on you. 70s on TS is good enough lmao

I never read the Key once and passed all three tests. Everyone studies different. The most important thing is what you do at home, not at the class.

There is a lot of issues with the key packets.

But they cover themselves by issuing you a PG.

Yes because Elite didnt exist back then.

And technology wise - clearly Elite is more complete.

Great for Sgt & Lts. Terrible for Captain QUESTIONS.

lets not forget Mike used to teach for the Key.

Fuq every schools Packets. AG/PG & Rank Specific Questions that are 2-4 sentences SHORT! is all thats needed.

Tricky questions can be cut in Half were getting easy procedures wrong by being paranoid everything is a trick.

I took the 2017 caps exam, the first exam on computer. The day of long questions are over. I don't know if that's a concerted effort to minimize eye strain (prob fucking not) but these questions are more brief now.

Anyone that passed shouldnt protest. Plus there are no questions to throw out. Only spelling errors which didnt have an effect on the questions. Half the Capts rank has less than 20 years on. Its going to be a slow 2-4 years. A bottom heavy list doesnt need anymore passers.

I kind of agree. If youre in the 80+ youre absolutely golden. If youre in the low 70s then why would you want more people to possibly pass and leapfrog you with seniority/bonus points etc.

Protests only really help the people in the 60s with this exam.

I have to agree with that assessment. A lot of people scored from 70-73,......So from 70-73 it's a slow bleed. If you scored 74 or better then things will move a lot quicker (senority points will bring you to a 75,76,77 etc.). However, if you feel that strong about this exam you should protest or at least show up and see why you got the questions wrong. It's totally up to you. You put in the work.

There are 356 Captains on the job. They are over 6 in vacancies. They just finished promoting 250 Captains in 4 years. 2/3 are not at top pay. A lot of these guys have less than 20 years on. Why do you want a list to go from 114 to 175? Im sorry to say but this is a competition not a rally to fight the job at the protest. The guys in the 60s are free to fight. But if you have a 70, its better to be at 114 than 175 on the list.
