Take it for what it is worth. I spoke to someone at Risk Management who said It does not appear they will promote anyone until July 2021 Im assuming thats for all exams but Im on the list to be promoted to LT so Im not sure if his answer was for just LT promotions or all promotions. He has been reliable since I have dealt with him (Charges and Level 2 monitoring). I still speak with him because I need to be carbed. Carb will still happen according to him to clear people for promotion when the time comes.

No one hopes youre right That theyll promote before July more than i do. Im just sharing what I was told. I dont know anyone other than the guy at risk. They clear people for promotion through Carb so I figured he would know something. On top of that he was spot on with my charges and days lost before I was even made an offer. like I said I hope hes wrong and they promote because I would be in the next group if I were cleared by carb.

DCAS - HAS extended Other EXAMS by 1 Year that were due to expire this year.
the FACT that someone got their Exam extended MEANS - an Extension on our exams by 1 year IS POSSIBLE.

You can see these Extended exams on their website.

No one believed there would be a 2,000+ sergeant list

No one believed 30 extra questions would be on a sergeants exam (2013)

No one believed all 30 questions after question 100 would Count

No one Believed the SBA would sue and win retro for a small group of 350-ish sergeants

No one believed the 2017 sergeants exam would get delayed 2 times in 2016.

No one believed promotions/transfers would be on a slow down

No one Believes i have 50 tour changes and cant Take CASH OT because of the games Admin Lieutenants Play with the help of the CO

No one believes the test will hire anyone pass 1,000.

ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE. There is NO FACTS OR PROOF to calculate anything in the future of this job.

haters will hate and those hopeful may get a good surprise or a bad one.

Its true though, what I cant believe is that after this crazy year were going through people still say that cant happen. I honestly believe anything can happen now, the old standards have been thrown out the window for better or for worse.

I will advise you that at a minimum, no promos till January. A sgt test panel is being planned for early next year. Problem that many are not noting is that exams set to expire recently were extended. Means nothing for exams expiring in 2022. Pandemic continues sure anything is possible. But for now theres nothing to get intel on Bc its a non issue

Any news on a recruit class? Thatll be good for promos. I know a few candidates that were called for mini meds recently.

I often dont go into long term stuff Bc every week things can change. In fact Im posting this Bc Im very confident of where the info is coming from. I believe dept headcount is around 33,500. Apparently there is no known target number at this point atleast from what I can obtain at this point. Heard 32k previously. Vacancies numbers mean nothing. Its useless info at this point. Im told ZERO promotions and ZERO hiring will be occurring till July 2021 at a minimum. I will advise you this is not locker room chatter and comes from a place outside dept w knowledge of budget constraints. I hope this proves to be very wrong but Id figure some would rather know of the extreme possibilities in case they want to plan a different strategy for their career

It started months ago but they just got rid of almost all of them now. I thought they cancelled training bc of election nonsense but its bc none of those instructors are there anymore. This week the rest got shipped out.

They canceled the July class and October class, there may be a January class but its all in limbo. All PA personal were sent out in July to commands. Nothing new there.

The personnel on the finest were already out temporary assignment to all out commands. The temp all out simply was set to expire this weekend. With no class of recruits set the assignments were simply extended. No new personnel were shipped out. If and its a huge if, there is an end of October class, its a simple finest revoking the temp assignment. This info offers nothing new on state of affairs. I will offer two things to note:

1- hearing 12 hours tours take effect oct 26. Rdos will not be cancelled unless things go bad

2- this is more rumorish. Hearing no promotion exams to be scheduled through Dcas until 2022. If this is true I would think extension of list would be in play. Again just stating something that was told to me

As I said before and October class is still trying to be sorted out though keep in mind it of course can pulled at any time. Still feeling cautiously optimistic about it though!

Bacon the information this person provided is false. Training was scheduled to be canceled weeks ago due to election protests. Other training was further cancelled this week due to covd concerns. Again, none of this effecting promotions in the least. Biggest prohibitor of promotions right now is budget constraints. Until that is solved then promotions will continue to be non existent or minimal at best

lists WILL get extended because teachers cant even enter their own building yet 14,000 cops will pack a classroom for a promotional exam when they have a massive list they can and will Extend. stop it.

covid has its own set of rules.

Sorry and I forgot a vaccine will be coming soon hopefully by mid November, so stop this BS that list is getting extended. I will bet my next four checks that list will be cut around 750. The job doesnt care they dont need Lts as much as Sgts and POs. The job is starting to realize how we dont need the rank of LT and this came from a reliable source. The reality is if they dont extend the list and lets say a group then sues and makes a case of why a list should be extended in regards to unforeseen and existing circumstance that failed to allow a list to properly be promoted off of that will essentially hold the next list up due to a court having to make a judgement on the current lists fate. Where as a suit complaining the list should be cut at 4 years and not extended does not hold anything up. It seems like it would be just a waste of finances considering civil servant law allows 1 year extensions.

If the list does get extended then it will just add back a terrible year of promotions. They wont magically start promoting 35 a month.
Sadly i think this do more with less approach is here to stay...

Also for anyone with decent time on, the 9/11 lists were not extended.
