I bet they do another 15 by the end of June minimum. The vacancies are there and the budget is stillcurrent until the new fiscal year which starts July 1.

I think at least 80. I wish I knew for sure. But just think like this. They made 28 LTs last month for example and 26 captains. So they didnt really clear more than 2 vacancies. Plus the 15 they are doing this month thats 17 total vacancies filled. So when you factor in that the vacancies I believe were like 65 in February. Yeah Im thinking a bit more than 60 still.

It just seems to me 15 is half a class and I can see them doing 15 or more for June too, to make a full class of 30 or more. The vacancies are there and continue to grow every month. Those dont just go away. They need to fill them eventually so whether its this June or next June theyre all getting filled.

You guys are trying to articulate what you want to hear. 0 doesnt make sense. Another 15 no way!. Must be 30! Lol its just not how things work especially w the fiscal and pandemic times. Just need to be patient. If youre trying to pass time w hopeful thoughts I get it but dont get your hopes up.

The fiscal year isnt over yet. The feds are going to bail the city out 100%. The pandemic will only affect how they do classes in regards to social distancing guidelines. Theres nothing unrealistic about what was said. 15 is a half class number. So it makes sense that they are doing half a class and will do the other half in June. Lets see. Nothing hopeful just having a conversation.

There is no Lt bmoc so the social distancing thing goes out the window. Idk why the number is so low with more than enough vacancies

Lieutenant is a useless rank atleast in my eyes. Sergeants deal w most and captains deal w the rest. Not saying this has ANYTHING to do w the small classes. But a lt is pretty much a glorified sergeant. Now to go into reality it probably has everything to do w budget rather then my above thoughts. Not advocating lt rank should be abolished etc, just stating job can get by promoting enough Sgts and captains.

Its my opinion. Guys like attacking people for opinion on here. My opinion means no more then anyone elses. I understand the meaning of the website, but if you dont think this job NEEDS sgt as front line supervisors and needs captains as lower level executives. Lieutenant rank is useless in this sense. Just my opinion this job knows it needs Sgts to perform patrol duties and needs captain for duties etc. lts not so much so I stand by my assertion that Sgts and captains will be if more importance. Opinion only so lets not call me salty again :/
