I would love to know how they decide on such a small class. And it seems like every command is running super short on the rank of sergeant. So weird. Also - if anyone has the finest, please post. Thx

I feel like they promote less and less as the fiscal year runs on. Maybe in July we will see another boost in promotions like we did last year. They probably blow their load to get vacancies filled, then slow down when they realize they have a budget AND a promotion schedule to keep on track. Like most things this dept does, its ass backwards.

We are only 7 months into FY. With that said the NYPD has a higher authorized headcount, as well as budget. I dont see the correlation here.

Youre not Nostradamus either. Few more classes like these and you can kiss goodbye cracking 2k mark.

Never said I was, but since this is the 2 year mark for the list and we've just touched 1000, would it be too much to assume that in 2 more years we would hit 2000? List has been moving slow for the most part, only the second half of last year did they start throwing in bigger classes, which is right after the start of a new fiscal year.

Dont believe the hype, sgts list isnt moving slow, getting to list #940 after 2 years isnt slow.

i think that most are saying it has slowed down since the big classes, but i do agree with you, we are only at the halfway point

100% agree but when you knock out 240 promotions in 3 months the pace has nowhere to go but down

Well if they do 30-40 every month it would be the same as 60-80 every two months. I also would not be surprised if all of the all out is future Sgts which is a lot are sent to. But, honestly no clue and no inside info.
