I just went through CARB and the SGTs there said next possible class was end of October. And checking the other Ranks Forums, both SGTs and CAPTs mentions rumors of class in late October. Thats why I mentioned it.

Nothing should surprise you with this job. LT is the one rank where there isnt really ever an urgency to fill vacancies. They had 60 vacancies before the current class went in and they only promoted 30 LTs. That should kind of sum it up. They need to fill SGT vacancies because those are your first line supervisors. They need to fill the CPT vacancies because those are your XOs and COs. There is no urgent need to rush on LTs because those are your mid level supervisors. Thats part of the reason why the LT list always runs so slowly.

And that is why the Lt is the best rank. The sgt does like 75% of all the work. The capt does everything major at the executive level. And the Lt does whatever is left.
