Assuming the department is up to the 200th name on the list by the end of the year, will they go through the remaining 1000 names in less than four years? In short, any new comments on whether they are going to cut this list?

I dont post much but rumors at 1pp this list will get cut probably high 700s. The job has calculated retirements etc LOD predictions its well oiled machine, Take it for what it is you dont have to believe me I can care less this came from a high source.

What do people get out of saying a list is gonna get cut?

Obviously people that didnt make the list that try and make themselves feel better by saying a lot of people wont make it. Nobody knows what whats going to happen over the course of the next 3.5 years. No sense in making people feel bad for passing a promotional exam.

Heard from a 2nd source today about an end of the month Lt promotion in November. I know that contradicts with what never again has said so take it with a grain of salt. He's been spot on thus far, anyone else hear anything?

I suspect they clear well more than they plan to promote for a "next" class. Otherwise, that would mean a class of ~60! I mean, that would be f'in great but the numbers and rumors don't point to that. Would be nice, though...

Well for the class that is in now, johnnybigtime said they cleared up to 175 and they promoted up to 170 last week.

Good point. That would be great. Now that I think about it, if you account for the next rumored captain's class, a LT class in the ~50 range could actually make sense.

The office I work for , across the hall from me, a team sometimes speaks to Sgt/LT/Capt BMOC's, they went this week and spoke to an inspector for leadership training, and it was told to them that apparently they are planning a class of 59 either before for the month of December , or sometime in the month of December. If this is true, that would be excellent news before the year finish's up.

That would be insane if true. That would take the list into the 230s for the first 6 months. With the rumored 20-24 captain promotions with current vacancy and terminal numbers would still give us 15 vacancies.

Like I said guys and gals, Im not saying this is definite , Im only sharing what I heard, and I agree that would be insane , that would bring the list up to the mid 230s which isnt too bad considering the list didnt come out until May of the year.
