How about the other people that were supposed to go into the mentoring program

I did noticed that only 54 people were picked for the mentoring program from the original 110 tentative list of names. So we can assume since the mentoring program ends July 27 which is a Friday, maybe there will be another class going in July 30?

I can't see the Dept. sending the Mentoring Program cops back to there commands after July 27. An educated guess is there go into BMOC afterwards.

I'm guessing the same. The 27th is also a Friday, so it seems probable that they'll issue a FINEST a few days beforehand and just move everyone from mentoring into BMOC, but that's just a sensible guess. I did hear from someone a couple weeks ago that the PA was preparing for "back-to-back BMOC classes," so the date ranges fit. They're both approximately 6 weeks long, a manageable number of people, etc., so let's see what happens.

FYI the Mentoring program was split into two waves, hence why the time is about half and the amount of cops is about half. The remainder will go into mentoring in August.

Also if you look at the June class finest, its 7 weeks, ending August 5th.

It's probably a 49, just like they do with phase 1 for BMOC

July 30 sgt bmoc will end on sept 7 perfect timing for Sept 10 bmoc for the next sgt mentors going in. For the first time it makes sense. When the last mentors go in Sept 10 that will last till middle of October.

Someone here posted that they checked up to 405 names. I believe it was Jonnybigtime. Any class on or after October will be the last class for the year(based on timing) will lead to 405

.

They are keeping us away from all out people. We also have weekends off. They will have us doing desk, go out with Supervisor, and learn supervisor duties.

Seems like they staying true to what they listed.

Weekends? the finest says steady Sunday-Monday. Unless they are doing it their own way. But you are correct. They are keeping us away from the all-out group and having us do supervisor duties. I think they should do this with everyone that way they would know what to do once they get permanently assigned to a command.

And thank you for finally agreeing with me arrow. I said from the beginning that it would be a great program that is beneficial but you didnt want to listen to me! This current  administration actually cares about making strong supervisors unlike in the past when the job would throw you out there and say sink or swim kid!

It is true. My friend was called from the unit in charge of this program and was told she wouldnt be doing to whole 3 months. She said that it would be done in 2 waves and that my friend would be going in the second wave starting right after the current.

This explains why only half the people started already and why the duration is half.

Two waves of mentoring will take you to 355 on the list.

Average class size has been 50-60 so by December 405-410.

Jonny posted which was over a month ago promotion unit has checked up 405 people.

Honestly though, you could say both statements about any command out there. I can find you 5 people who love the command  Im in, and I could find you 5 people who are miserable there.

I worked there for a while. Not a bad place as a cop, but as a boss no way. The place is a revolving door when it comes to supervisors.

No boss wants to stay. They nitpick on every little thing. Weekly platoon commander meetings that sgts often have to go to. The 120 is the only cmd the boro is really concerned about so it's always in spotlight. Newest CO is actively trying to reinvent the wheel.

Question...did guys in the mentoring program get their first pick as to commands? How are you guys liking it?

I got my first pick but some people got their second. The cmd is good And tight and where I ended up they are sticking to what the 49 says. But some other command are not. Its a great learning experience before getting promoted. That way you wont be clueless when you get to your permanent command.
