I would have thought over 100 scored 90 and above. Considering the vacancies are pushing 100, a 90 means not to long a wait.

I don't want to spread that rumor.  I did not count the numbers. I can tell you that while looking thru the list for my buddies i saw a lot of ppl with 85 or better.

From speaking to people I wouldn't be shocked if it was well over 100 that scored above 90. I heard a bunch of high 80's and low 90's scores... and that was before any points added.

So with the curve ,..can anyone confirm the actual credit you get for getting a question wrong? Is it 1/3??? Thought I read this somewhere,...so for example, if you only got 15 wrong,.your score would be curved to a 90 (1/3 of 15 questions is 5 so add 5 to the original score ),...not to mention any seniority points and throwouts,...

Nobody knows what the curve is for our exam yet. They know what the Sgts exam was curved to, but there's no way of knowing what ours was yet. The scale is based off of the difference between the average scores of the original and make up exams, which is obviously different between our test and the sergeants test.

That's without all the points being added. Imagine when everything gets added in. At least the top 150 people will be 90 and above, MARK my words. People thought I was crazy when I said this months ago.

If the list is 1287 it would take about 7 years to make the whole list.  I can't see them extending the list but anything is possible.  All the promotional schools will go out of business haha.

Ha more like the quality of leardership is 70% or the population without the specializations of skills or educattional level of Manhattan or Queens which would be the equivalent otherwise in quality and morals  The equivalent in the Bronx would be less than 5% and in Brooklyn less than 15% (all about location) proximity to Park Slope, lower Manhattan!!!

They wouldn't amend the list, they'll just issue the person a new list # ending with .5.  The original list number would be skipped when they reached that #

Cant help but to think if you were looking for a general idea of where you stand is to compare to 2006 exam. The curve will not make people jump over others at the top part of the list. Thats going to be a blood bath around the 70-75 area. Am I wrong to think like this?

I know this is the first time the points are scaled so we might not know the answer. My question is about adding on military points, JST points, time in rank, etc. Do those points get added in before or after the scores are scaled?

After. The scaling applies to raw score. My question is whether the list of 1287 has the scaling alrealdy applied or is that pre-scaling because if its pre-scaling it could take a whole lot longer..

After.  The 1287 is the final list.  I also saw the list but didn't want to add that here. It did not have list numbers because all of the points are not done being added.  JST is done and Vets are coming up.  I can't speak on medals.  Once all of that is added then the list is sent back to DCAS to create the list numbers and then the OFFICIAL list with numbers is sent back to the department.  The department will then do the IAB and OEEO checks for promotions and a BMOC class will be made.  The rumor is end of April for Lt BMOC but don't be surprised if its in May.  When the Sgt list was published the IAB and OEEO checks took less than a week and the class went in the following week so you never know.  But for those looking for an actual number of Sgts on the list it is 1287. Before anyone starts talking about the list being cut,  there is no talk of cutting any promotional list.  DCAS will not administer another exam until the list is almost exhausted. If the 4 years is up and there are still ppl on the list, it will be extended.  This new process just sucks for those who are waiting to take the next Sgt, Lt or Cpt exam.

Can anyone tell me how many promotional exams were extended in the last 20 years? Its a pretty easy answer...

The job will not run a list 6 years, not including the 1 year waiting for the list, just so people in the 60s will get promoted.

Having one ongoing promotional list for 7 years is insane and delusional and will never happen.
