To be honest .. in my opinion.. none of the class helped ! .. the poll of questions from all the classes were awful ! .. in my opinion .. all of the classes have to revamp the questions being used on their packages and update them with more exam liked questions! .. do i think Rising star questions are very hard ? - Yes ! .. but exams questions now day are being written not to test you if u know the tricks but more to test u if you know each individual duties of different characters within a procedure .

I agree these classes didnt really help. Ive always studied on my own at home with their material as a supplement but everyone just rushed our classes and threw material together. Dont expect to get the same treatment as Sgt/LT from these classes for capt, its no money in it for these guys, lets be honest here. Mike just copied and pasted his Sgt/LT material and sprinkled a couple Capt. questions. At the end of the day it all depends on your drive, you really have to put the work in. I think rising star was the best since they teach you to pay close attention to details and every word in a stem. This technique hands down is the best and something you need to master in order to score high on these exams. Key to me was only good for their rewrites. Thats my 2 cents good luck.

Whatever Yanosik had on his 7hr cram packet was pretty much on the exam.

Risingstar helped me score well on the Lt exam so thats what im gonna be using in 3 to 4 years for the capt exam.

But classes maybe make up 10% of your studying. How you spend your time at home is what will make or break you.

By the time you take the captains test you dont need a 26 week course that goes deep into aided cases, juveniles, property and so forth. I thought Elites 12 week course was fine, plus Mike activated you once you paid, which in my case was in May. So you still had 6 months to study even though the class was only 12 sessions. Thought it was the perfect setup.

Ive used all three and in my opinion the key is the best by far. Their packets are so easy to read and I can just blast through them. The comparison charts and the way they put similar procedures in the same packet really make it easy. The key also has the best questions, especially the rewrites. Their admin guide digest was also on point. To be safe you always read the important procedures from the patrol guide in addition to the packets.

Definitely the key and rising star questions.

The key's packets sometimes leave out too much information.  Even more annoying is sometimes they over abbreviate words and I have to check the patrol guide to figure out what word they are abbreviating for..... if it's not a commonly abbreviated word, just spell it out.
