Did anyone happen to catch the 3 digit number next to their name when they went to the main desk to show their ID? Anyone has any idea what it mean? I had a 453 next to my name...the name below me had a 383 and the name above had a 534. Were they prelim list numbers? I scored a 86.

Thanks guys.. 3rd time a charm but the real thanks should be going to the 9 heroes. This exam will balance out the low numbers of the 2011 and 2015 exams. So as I stated at the beginning a list over 1,000...too early to tell if it will be cut though. Gotta look at attrition rates and vacancies...but i do hope everyone makes it.

Confirmed fact that Im not ondeeair. The gurus voted him off the forum after his epic "Sgt. Upheavel" thread on the 2015 Lt exam message board. Im sure he has gone underground and pops his head up every now and then under various monikers. You guys may like to make fun of ondeeair but he was a regular provider of confirmed facts. He should be mentioned in the same breath as the 9 heroes. Ondeeair...where ever you are... thank you for your service sir!

Didn't the job wait for two years after the list was made to start promoting from it?

I think there are some differences between now and '06. End of the day no one knows anything. Conjecture and trolling from people thinking they know what they are talking about based off a situation 11 years ago under completely different circumstances

What are the different circumstances?  Fact remains that in 4 Years they can probably promote at most 800 LTS give or take A few.  If the list is smaller then expected then nothing to worry about.  Discussing Realistic possibilites is not trolling.

Little knowledge for the poster who insulted veterans and service members earlier. Before I got on the job I participated in the invasion of Iraq as an infantryman, not bathing for 6 weeks, taking rounds, ******ing like an animal, watching kids cry cause we just orphaned them, not speaking to family for months, etc etc. so that we could rid of a government who supported and celebrated the events of 9/11 amd to make sure every mother****er who hates our country understand what could happen if they try again. Don't know what you were doing while that was going on. . For our service the state grants us vets preference points in this case 2-5 questions on an exam, which we first have to pass. Didn't hear you say **** about getting 2.5 points for the JST. Weigh that in your grape for a second or two.

This is the 5th promotional exam I've taken and the 1st time I will be using these points. They can be used once within the state. I took all of my exams on the day they were given, I didn't volunteer to go to do some candy ass "deployment" at JFK or stateside, or even to the "sucks" sitting in a nice air con tent, with wi-Fi, Burger King and no incoming rounds. I didn't reschedule any of my drills either to do a make up. Nor did I become pious and holy on Saturdays when OT was not involved or an exam was scheduled. So I'm using my points that I am entitled to as many others are. Their service may have been rosy and used to their advantage but the option was available to you too. Before you go calling all of us scammers, take a minute and understand that many on this job sacrificed a lot, A LOT, in the service towards our country and in return we are afforded many benefits.

Big guy. Thank you for your service. My son was a military man. He passed doing so. I think where he was coming from was the guys who were state side and flaked the dept.  Take comments for what it is and not let it get personal.   You served our country and I'm sure everyone on this board appreciates what you and others has done for us. Thank you bro. Good luck.

Also isnt there only like 1500 Lts on the job? How would they even make 1000 to 1200 extras?

The Lieutenants exam has historically been EXTREMELY competitive. Its not a matter of passing ,..its a matter of your final score,..the higher the score, the higher the chances you have to get made. Clearly people may die on the list ,..its a risk we all took by taking the exam,.needs of the Department people...its not a guarantee,..

They check your sheet and Id. Cellphones are shut off and all your stuff is put under the desk. You wait for the entire room to get filled and you all start at the same time. You first see your entire scantron with the incorrect ones marked in red. You can only touch screen the red ones to protest. Its pretty easy, the wait is a killer though lmao
