Depends on command. If you go to a Manhattan South command or a Transit command, you can expect to give up one rdo weekly almost. If you go somewhere like PBQN or PBBS then yea, the well is quite dry. I think I have 25 hours for the year. Supervisors at top pay will almost always take OT, so in a sense, seamus is right, as the rookie you aren't going to see much OT and if you are getting any OT, rest assured it's for a ****ty detail that no one else wanted.

I came out in your class as well Seamus and surprisingly I've done about 15-20 hours of OT per month (not even touching RDO's). It has been mostly extended tours for 49's, late jobs etc. so it really just depends on where you go. If you come to the Bronx you'll definitely get plenty of overtime.

I'm in PBMN as well, and we are not allowed to do 49s for cash. We have 2 options..give it to the incoming tour to do or do it for time. I don't know where the supposed "best union" is on this, but I have yet to see this union do jack****.

Damn man, that is messed up !!!
They give us 2 hours (cash) for 49's and you can easily get 2-3 49's per week. We have "crime reduction" every Friday/Saturday/Sunday and we also get regular parade details etc. Come to the Bronx man, where there's crime there's cash $$$
I was in the April class went to Brooklyn North. I have 60 hours total for the months of May and June. Idk how you can have 2 hours for the year. That's an easy 49. Or a few late jobs. That's no Bueno.
