I'm thinking they finish it off with another 45-55 followed by a down month in November.

With 30 vac 30 on tl and 52 in looks like oct coukd be a down month.  Unless alot of sgts leave with all the details in sept coming up

They are expanding the department by 1300 cops. That's roughly 125 more SGTs that have to be added. Those vacancy numbers don't reflect that. I'm betting October is still a go and still a sizeable 60 or so. They are also likely to promote a very large number of Lieutenant's later this month, something the vacancy numbers also do not account for. So add  a large number of  SGTS who are getting made to LT to that and then also account for the expanding headcount and logic would indicate that there will be a class.

Sure, why not? If they really needed to, I'm a 1000% positive they could find a third room for 10-15 Captains. Where there is a will there is a way. The job is short in every rank right now and they're adding cops. I doubt "hey boss, we only have two rooms" will be enough to derail the hiring of SGTs, LTs, or CPTs. We can issue smartphones, implement body cams, and revamp the entire patrol model, but finding an extra room for 15 CPTs is gonna be the finisher for the job?? Lmao. Please.

 actually it can bro...sorry to burst your bubble. Lts were cancelled last month due to same reason. Simple as this...bmoc is assigned certain amt of rooms. One of those rooms the projector doesnt work so it cant be used and wont be used by them. Then you have school safety...1200 recruits..and oh btw..another 700 recruits in oct. So yeah they can say no room and have done so numerous times in the past.

 It has nothing to do with space.  There was a Capt class, Lt class, and a Sgt class all at the same time in Dec 2014.  Capts and Lts were in two smaller rooms and the 40 something Sgts were in one of the larger rooms on the 6th Floor.  There were actually scenarios where all three classes were present and critiqued the performance!!!

 From what I was told, it was not about space at the Academy, it was because of the amount of promotees.  They did not want to promote so many people because of the slotted times for promotion and the promotion ceremony becoming too long.  I don't think that a Lt at the Police Academy has the overall authority over when promotions happen.  If they want to promote, they will promote and FIND the space.  In April, there were 42 Lts in a small room like sardines.  Also, I don't think they hold any recruit classes on the 6th floor which is where they conduct the leadership courses!

Two months of Sgts back to back. I think October is a down month. They cancelled Lt's last month because of too many discretionary promotion. They'll not put Sgt's in October because not enough classrooms. It should be Captains and Lieutenants and November or December more Sgt'.

1 more class this year with 60-70   Put it in the books

Well all this speculation is great but some concrete info would be really great right now

What about the date? Did they change it from the 25th yet? I cant see them doing it that day.
