Ooooookay.    Anyway, good luck tomorrow Debo !!!!!    I know you WILL make the list!   just remember, the right people are rooting for you and know you will be a great lieutenant.   Now I have to break your chops to take Captains exam.   Lol

Question:  What do you call a sergeant who rightfully used an religious observation to attend his beautiful daughter's communion and be with her at her communion party and take the lieutenant's exam two months later?

Answer:   Lieutenant

P.S. - we all know, if we could, we would do the same as all the religious observers and military people did.   So let's not fool ourselves.

i do not pity the guy/gal that cry that they gave up family time or personal time to be dedicated to an exam.   Shame on you for not being there for your family or making things work out.   That sounds like a double failure to me.  Test AND the family?  Wow.  Who is the real cheater? Who got cheated?   Who cheated who?

Good luck Debo!    Go get 'em!

This is how dcas needs to be, stop being a liberal pussyfart and make no accomodations, you can miss something of importance once every four years.... sorry, deal with it, and suck it the **** up!

Pretty much this.

For anyone who disagrees with this, sorry to say but you're in the minority.

Good for you!    Baptisms can be scheduled anytime.    Communions and confirmations are scheduled by the School.

i truly hope you do schedule your child's baptism for the next exam and get a 100.

i hope the next lieutenants exam is scheduled for next year on my daughter communion too!

I'd rather a decent, deserving guy to make lieutenant on a make up date than a someone who spent 7 months or longer of his/her life memorizing a book to be a prick for the mere fact of achieving a rank just to tell people what to do instead of being a leader or to do less on the job.

go "Debo" go!!!!!

not true for me.  Without going into details I had a fairly serious medical issue prior to the 2011 sergeant test and I EASILY could've requested to stay out sick and get a make up date.  I convinced my surgeon to at least put me back limited so I could take the test.  He reluctantly agreed.  I did not want to be known as a scammer and I wanted the pride in passing on the original date.

I agree with another poster that said unless you are deployed military or out with a SERIOUS medical issue, DCAS should tell you to suck it up.  I think God would forgive you if you used a pencil on a scantron and a calculator on a Saturday!!!!

I have to defend my friend because it may be me in his situation if they give the test next year when my daughter has her communion.  Lol

God may forgive.   But a kid will never forget.

i truly do hope whatever was ailing you years ago, is gone forever.   But as I posted previously, religious observers used to take the exam the following day.   This is the first time DCAS put the observers months later.

Thats great for others to read that you are "with them" about the 'sucking it up' and 'not wanting to be known as a scammer' and 'pride in passing on the original date' and all that.  Yay! Woo-rah!!!.  But, I'm sorry, really?  Stop.

I got a 54 without throwouts.   Disappointed? Yes.    Exhausted? Yes.   Pissed off how the test was written? Absolutely.  But that's where my frustration ends.

But let's not pool the people who did the right thing for family and took advantage of an opportunity to better their livelihood with those who always get the "saturday" observance, who are disproportionately always getting THEIR way on this job, in this city and country.

And let's think about this.  Those who do take a later date exam, who are they getting the information from about what is on the test?   And especially this one whereas I, along with everyone else, studied all the traditional material that the courses give expecting the test to be given as it traditionally was.   This test was fvcked up.  Even with all this time that lapsed, the later test takers or as most people on this forum would call them "scammers", how would they know the orders, sections, messages there is to study for this test, if it wasn't for those idiots who took it on April 18 and opened their mouth about it.

There really is no perfect way to remedy the issue but by giving the test on a Sunday it will at least lessen the overall number of makeup tests.

But hey what about the Catholics!   Lol.   Thats OUR holy day of obligation!      I say middle of the week should suffice.

and not during Ramadan.   And On Christmas.  And not during Chanuka. Or Hannuka.  And not on new years or Chinese New Year. And not on thanksgiving. And not on MLK day or presidents day......

And let's end all the B.S. right now, IF any of us had an opportunity to postpone the date, they definitely will.

No one would say that its a matter of pride, one for all and all for one, yeehaaaa!  Come on now.

the haters in this forum sound like the poor saps I see on the train to work going to their construction jobs and the same ones guzzling down beer on the train on their way home from those construction jobs before their stop With their 'rah-rah', 'we're a brotherhood of union!' 'We got to stick together!' Bullllllshiiiiiiiiit.  The haters sound the same way with finding every excuse to hate.

it sounds like the same phony rant on this thread.   stop.

They f@&ked up or made bad decisions in their early life and now they took a job where they have to worry about layoffs and furloughs.  and those same stupid fvcks would side step, go around the unions backs and ever back stab their fellow "brothers" to keep a job.  all in all to put food on THEIR table.

We took this fvcked exam now people are hating on others who take advantage of an opportunity?

Please stop with the gung-ho nonsense.   Study harder.  Or sue Captain Insano to get get back time that people foolishly lost from their personal lives.

I would scam a promotional if I could. I have no pride when it comes to a pay raise for my family. Stop with the integrity b.s! This job doesn't care about you. Shame on you if you didn't figure that out. I think I am one of the few that are jealous of the scammers. If you can get over on the job by not breaking any rules then go for it.

Well, my boy Debo just agreed with me, that unfortunately, the stuff on the exam CAN be found in the Patrol Guide, orders, etc.

MINUS the outdated Ops Oders and a couple of other things.

F.U. Debo !!   You are killing our protest.     Lol.

It was a low blow by Capt. Insano.     Traditional type questions were not on this one.

Those Fvcking additional Data, Notes and obscure non-sense!

So, who's with me studying for the next lieutenant's exam?  Huh? Huh?

I'm amped up and ready for Elite Strategic or The Key with silly circles, star burst, exclaimation points, boxes and lines across the page or RisingStar-Aaalllleeelllluuuuuiiiiiaaaaaaaaaah or The Brat's Police Academy material.   That is not a pun. She. Is.  awesome.

So come on guys, the test will be given next April!   Just in time for communion!

This guy boogie knight seems like the type of guy that would happily join IAB and using his family as an excuse for everything.  "I don't care ill f@ck whatever cop I can so I can make some extra money to feed my family." The concept of living within ones means seems as though it would be foreign to him.  Ruining other cops lives/family lives,  because "its for MY family, and I need the special assignment pay."  But when all is said and done, I truly believe if boogie knight was hungry, he would eat his younglings.....

No, won't fvck another cop or go over them.    Just go over you and people like you.  That's all. And yeah, I will do whatever it takes to earn the extra buck for the fam, because the next guy won't pass a buck to anyone either.   You are lying to yourself if you think so.

And no, not eating my kids.  Feeding them.   Go feed your own.   You dope. Stop depending on others with that Obama-ism crap to "spread the wealth".    You communist.

I should go to IAB for the special assignment pay.   It's the extra buck$ that matters.

and living within ones means?   Is that why you became a cop?  Couldn't make it in the real world. Could ya?  You keep your position on this job and raise YOUR family within those means.   I will give MY family the best by any means.

And what's your point you your stupid rah-rah rant?    It you are such a man, resign and get a job in Corporate America where it's dogs eat dog.    See how long it will take you to come back crying to the department.   I bet you would even apologize to captain Insano And DCAS saying "please sir, can I have some more"?

Idiot.

P.S. - it's not using family for an excuse for everything, it's doing everything I can for the family.  Which means, I don't give a fvck about the next guy.  I won't hurt anyone and I never did.  But I take care of me and my own.

when you stop sucking off your fellow boys in the precinct and go home right after work, you might see what you got and realize that.

Boogie night did u even take the exam yet? Actually you sound like you're debo the way your going on about him..also last i checked most peoples protests weren't about the info not being in the patrol guide...actually most of them were based on the question or answer being incorrect.
