Heard that there is a promotion on 4/24, which means Lt. Class going in with others but Cap class is not sure yet. On 2013 cap list, there are only 9 people available for promotion on 4/24 unless job changes date to 4/27. Usual captain class have 12 to 15 people and 2014 test list is still hiding somewhere in DCAS. They may start promoting from 2014 list before even list is published just 2007 and 2008 sgt. Lists.
I heard they used to do 100 captains a year, I guess things slowed down, but that 2013 exam should be done by September 2015 if not sooner. Hopefully the 2014 Capt list goes just as fast.
I was told Captain exam in approximately 18 months from the same source as above, who is very reliable. I hope you are right, wereinbacklog because I want to study and get that over with asap!

That is true but there are only a few eligible until the end of this month. I'd rather it be a big class of Captains to finish off that list so we can get started. Look at the bright side...u don't have to take a lieutenant test next week. Amazed watching these sergeants cut each other's throats to get days off before the exam.

Here's the latest on the number of passers. Approximately 110-120 passed. The range is based on 5 test takers that passed sometime after this exam was given. Always a few sneaky ones that squeeze by unnoticed, just like the Lieut's test. I can't see a Capt's test anytime soon.
Thanks to all who are contributing information they receive to those of us in the dark whether 100 % reliable or just simply what they heard from people who may be in the know.
I thought the same thing with the 100 plus. That #, 110-120 has swag in it, but the word was over 100 or close to it. The compiling of all points isn't complete and DCAS does add individuals who score close to the 70 mark in case there are throwouts. These #s reflect a raw list without any cleaning up for points, etc...
Honestly I always thought the number 66 was kind of low because I personally knew a bunch that passed (over 20) and than other lieutenants i would run into also said they passed. So when I was told the list would be anywhere from 60 to 100 I wasn't surprised to hear people on the forum saying 110-120. Should be interesting, a 100+ list should go for 3 years at the least
I still get anywhere from low 100's. But keep in mind the raw list contains names of people who have not broken the 70 percent. They do it in cases changes are anticipated and to keep anyone from actually having the true number of passers before they get it.
From conversations I've had with others, there were quite a few people in the 80's and high 70's. But I also know a few who hit 70 exactly. So the range will stretch pretty far up there.

Just for the record, my unofficial list that i started when the answer key came out wound up with 84 names on it. I stopped taking names at your request. Bottom line is we could have had a very close list a long time ago and knew approx where we stood. Hey its not too late.........
My prediction is 124 names
Your enthusiasm was appreciated. However, many like myself did not want to put our names on a public forum prematurely. This job has many haters! The list should be out shortly.

Some things you don't forget!.......best to be careful before you speak!........future Captain.
