Does anyone know how many changes to the answer key were made on the 2013 Captains exam to give a list of 63? I only picked up two questions. That test was more difficult and contained alot more errors than this test so I would suspect the list is going to contain more than 60 names pre-protest.

Let's call all those who have most likely 70+ and do a count. This will give us an idea that how many are possibly passing this test. Then start 2015 captain test thread!
According to Gamblors key I'm sitting on a 83 most likely score. I know several people in the low to mid 70s and one with an 81. Those scores are from folks who studied very hard from start to finish.
I know 80, 84, 83, 87. If we count from here there is a possibility that 60 some people passed initially and with some adjustments the list may go to 120s! Just a thought.
With 4 adjustments in last test list went from 25 to 63. I hope it works out at the end.
Pretty sure the 25 number was incorrect. There was a list floating around RS with over 30+ people on it. In fact, the 2010 Captains list needed approximately 15 changes to go from 68 to 128.
It'll be nice if the majority of the answer keys submitted are from people on the passing side of this exam. For what it's worth I know a few people who didn't study as hard and are not passing on gamblors key.
With what backlog is saying ... There is no way that 2014 test has only 60 or so who passed when the prior bogus exams itself had already 45-55 people on list prior to throwouts ... We looking at def over 60 I say atleast over 100.. This exam was far better then prior exams... People walking out who took prior exams felt much better abt this exam....

Nearly a hundred less people took this exam as compared to the last one (a 25% decrease). Also, the 63 people passing the prior exam was after the changes and the 4 people that passed on the alternate test date. Overall, the 2013 Captains exam had a pass rate of around 17% (inclusive of changes, sabbath, etc.), with only about 22% of the eligible population taking the exam. Conversely, so far, the 2014 Captains exam has a pass rate of around 21% (not yet counting changes and sabbath exam). In this case, roughly 17% of the eligible population took the exam.

Don't waste your breath explaining statistics. Let them wait and figure it out!
U know why this test seemed easier than past exams..
1. Not page long paragraph questions
2. From what I remember. ..3 at most cims questions
3. Maybe 5 administration guide questions compared to the 15 Ave
4. Math formula..2 questions using the same easier formula. .
This test was made to pass if u just studied...
Imagine 10 more administration guide more cims and the trickery of mathematics formulas
Wow. Will be interesting to see how that figures increases after the TVB has been completed. someone rumored a last minute promotion of captains this month. Anyone else hear that?
The sergeants get promoted on December 19th. Unfortunately no captains and lieutenants. Im looking for the January 23rd promotions to feature captain promotions.
Backlog do you know the vacancy numbers for captains?
January 23rd is just the next scheduled promotion ceremony after December 19th, It is still still too early to see if Captain and Lieutenant promotions will be included. And yes 1/23/15 is subject to change especially with the protests/world events (Sony pictures movie theater threats). 12/19/14 was scheduled for 12/29/14 (Monday) however it was moved up which was beneficial for the new sgts that are in b.m.o.c now as po's. They get their shield 10 days earlier. The good news is that 12/19 will feature executive level promotions like inspector to chief and so on.
After your test, there was an unofficial source that revealed the number of people that passed the test. How long after test day did that info get released. I am currently impatiently waiting LT test results.
How did the orginal # go from about 66-70 to 110-120...maybe double answers and/or throwouts...or maybe thats why they are doing research questions they can take out or leave whatever questions they want to get the right size list...I know they say its predetermined but how do we know if the #s were changed..if they change the #s to create a bigger list whose going to look into it..noone... so basically these extra questions allows DCAS to manipulate the results. Yes I know these #s are rumors but some on here actually have great sources and those were the people reporting the first set of numbers. Just wondering about the so called research questions....what are they researching? Whose collecting the data? Will we know the results of the research? How long will they be researching? How will this research help the NYPD? So they were able to do research on all testable ranks(sgt, lt, cpt) it only makes sense that the research should be over...something to think about

Imdrained for what I know for sure when I went to protest session the research questions were blacked out, and based on that I knew what my score was by comparing the remainder of 100 questions to my answer key... So they can't be flexible any longer as far as them deciding how long the list should be...the questions were predetermined... I noticed a lot of the past exam questions were the research questions that were blacked out at the protest session.... I hope this helped...and far as them doing research questions is from whhat I was told they building a bank of questions for future walkin testing locTions.....
