Oh and by the way call me a troll.... But the reality is I heard from a very reliable source that the list WILL be cut and they told me a specific number as well... Let the hating begin ... But when it happens... Don't say I didn't warn you...Brat has very reliable BMOC info... She has nothing to do with where this info came from. Sorry brat but I think you would agree
It's cute that the rookies with the 949 tax numbers that passed the last test are trolling this forum. The whole 2011 list is getting made. It's ok rooks bc you aren't near 5 years yet so you will have to wait anyways.
Hey madre, called my boy after your post, he told me your info is on point. Don't know if it was worth posting from all the hate responses your about to get from people in denial. Lol
I don't want it to be cut either... But whenever someone says something remotely against their hopes and dreams they attack them like rabid dogs on here... I'm just giving the Intel I have.. And the source of said intel was on point with the release of the 13 list as well.. Good luck to everyone
Man everyday it is something new on Here. Back and forth not cut it will be cut. They try and cut eligibles for no reason I can See their will be a ton of people looking into lawsuits.. They might as well make the new passing grade 77 because why would they allow those that got less then a 77 on the 13 test get promoted and not us.. makes NO sense.
Anything is possible but it's very unlikely they would cut the list. Why start promoting from the new list? They are making 500-600 sgts a year; Cutting the 2011 list means a test would have to be given late next year. That's not going to happen. So ignore the trolls and enjoy being a PO, promotion will be here before you know it.

Sorry for whoever is on the end of the 2011 list but I have good word it will be cut. Remember I'm the one who told you all the scores were being released when they were.
Relax you asked DCAS about the release of the scores4 days before they were released. Lol. That's not a source And it doesn't make you a reliable source either. If the list gets cut. Oh well. Life goes on.
-- Edited by Semp1 on Sunday 22nd of June 2014 07:17:36 PM
Exactly, I believe his exact post read something like "I just talked to DCAS and they said scores go out the 20th." LOL. Not for nothing bro, I called the day before the list came out and they happily told me the scores were being mailed the 20th as well. Like Semp1 said, not really a "source" of anything. I'm fairly certain no decision has been made yet regarding the 11 test. It's too soon and these claims about arbitrarily cutting the list at 1250 don't pass the common sense test. Take a look at the score for 1250 on the 11 list. You'll see that several list numbers after 1250 have the SAME EXACT SCORE. DCAS is begging for a lawsuit if the "1250" garbage is to be believed. It would be completely arbitrary and capricious to cut a guy who at list number 1251, had the same exact score as the guy at 1250. I call BS and throw my full weight behind Brat/Yanosiks, prediction of no list cuts. There simply is no compelling reason why the list needs to die. None whatsoever.
I actually have it on good authority that no one knows what's going on. People saying it like the decisions been made already... Nothing has been decided yet and the administration is worried about other (more important) things.
I never said they were cutting the list at 1250. All I'm saying is I wasn't full of **** about the scores going out and no one believed me and everyone called me a troll. And as far as a lawsuit you are an idiot. Anyone can sue for anything and they wouldn't have a leg to stand on. Just like all the morons who said ed Mullins and the sba were suing over the 2013 test
I heard the new list is gonna be cut as we'll from a real reliable source 80 is the cut off.Dept looking for the cream of the crop not the crumbs at the bottom.

They can cut the list if they want it's a competitive exam! Not all the LT get promoted that PASS they have to score high. Whatever they decide it is what it is. I really don't think the list is going anywhere.

See that's slightly incorrect. They promote off the LT tests until they go the legal maximum time. The 2006 went 4 full years at that point it died. The LT test before it went longer than 4 years, and promoted the entire list. So you are actually incorrect. Not being able to promote a list that has about 600 more after 4 years of promoting is understandable when it took 4 years to promote about 750 For the 06 Lt list. What you want a 7 year list? Lol. C'mon. The 11 list for sgt is 2.2 years old and would only take 1 year max to finish. But I do agree they can cut if they want but feel that they don't want to. I'm actually shocked that not one person has talked about the PC visiting BMOC last month and saying to the cops there that the dept is currently 12 to 1 and he wants it to be 7 to 1. That in itself says a lot. You need all promotions for that to occur.

Ed Mullins did say there was an active lawsuit in regards to the 2013 jerky. Anyone that was in the May bmoc will confirm he said this. NOW, concerning the 2011 test... Anyone still waiting to be promoted, sit back and relax, your time will come because the your list number will be up soon enough. The 2011 list won't be cut. Mark my words.!! All you trolls and " 1post wonders" need to get a life. You've done nothing with your career, and are loser fucs still on performance monitoring!!!
Aren't you the same idiot saying it would "be awhile" before the 13' list came out due to this "active lawsuit". The sba came and said the list could be held for a year, they made no mention of any specifics about a lawsuit, quit spreading lies. Well the list is here and 932 names are on it. Kinda throws a few wrenches into your story there doesn't it? You weren't the only one in BMOC. They were more concerned about the upcoming elections than anything to do with the test. Shut up with your lawsuit fantasies.

I'm interested in hearing more about this. I'm surprised it hasn't been brought up in the past. This really happened? If true, not only would it mean no cut, but an increased rate of promotions and a quick jump in seniority for those already in the rank. Did he mention whether the increase was going to be focused on patrol?
Also, another point which will certainly effect promotions. This week the legislature passed a change which will allow ALL military veterans to purchase up to 3 years of active duty time into the pension. When the governor signs it into law sometime before the election, expect a big wave of retirements towards the end of the year, beginning of next. Lots of military SGT's will be affected by this change.

Listen fantasy boy, I didn't say anything about the list being held up. I SAID THAT IT WOULD be a while before it was promoted from. You dont know ****, stop hoping for your colleagues to be cut from the 2011 list.

Yes. It happened. Unless like 3 separate guys from May or June BMOC were lying to me. If I'm wrong can some one from the May orJune confirm please.

I am in no way wishing for any list to be cut... And for many of my friends who are on the 2011, I am hoping that they get their time in the sun. As a veteran and currently in the 2013 list I totally agree with AirBorneGuy. Many veterans were waiting for this piece of legislature to pass and it did..There will be a huge exodus of veterans once the governor signs this. Once the exodus starts, the upper ranks will thin out and an urgency in promotion will begin.
LARKIN BUYBACK LEGISLATION FOR VETERANS PASSES SENATE
Allows Veterans to Purchase Up To Three Years Of Service Credit in the NYS Retirement System
Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) announced today that Senate bill S7839 passed the Senate unanimously. This legislation institutes a mechanism for veterans to purchase service credit for their time in the military. The bill language eliminates the requirement that members must have served during specific periods of war or in a specific combat theater and allows all honorably discharged veterans to purchase up to three years of credit for their military service.
We have been working very hard to craft a bill that will allow our veterans to purchase up to three years of their service in the military, said Senator Larkin. I am pleased that we have been able to close the loophole that prevented our service men and women from getting credit for their service to our country.
The legislation has had overwhelming support from labor and veterans groups across the state and has been sent to the Assembly for action.
Additional Information:
1. This military service credit buyback bill amends current statutes and permits combat veterans of wars that are not currently covered (including Somalia, Bosnia, and Afghanistan), wartime veterans of time periods not currently covered (including Desert Storm), and the weirdly excluded post-1975 Cold War veterans to buy back up to three years of their honorable service.
2. Beyond the arbitrary and outdated nature of current law, current law also blatantly and shamefully discriminates against women. Because women were banned from combat during most of our past conflicts, many women veterans are now ineligible for military service credit.
3. The military service credit buyback bill is vital because it removes the arbitrary, artificial, and outdated restrictions in current law; repairs the discriminatory effect of current law on female veterans; and recognizes the invaluable service and sacrifice of all NY's honorably discharged veterans to our nation and state.

This was huge for me. I hit 12 next week. I went from 8 years left and thinking about 25 to 5 years left and saying "let's move while we're still young", kids included. I have 2 expeditionary medals (Bosnia and Kosovo), but the old law excluded me.
I don't get it. Someone like InTheWind creates a profile and his very first post is about cutting the list. It creates total chaos here and puts a lot of us (including myself) on the edge! Where the moderators are at? Makes no sense to me why anyone would log in here for the first time ever and start bullcrap about list cut, UNLESS THEY ARE TROLL.
The PC wants more supervisors I herd the same thing from a current BMOC cop and that's great news 7-1 means they need the 5o0+ on the 11 list And a lot more only 932 on on the 13 list I have a feeling on another Sgt test Oct 15! What do u guys think
On edge ?????? This is a freaking forum to post info related to promotional exams. Or is it not??? Whatever you do don't post anything that might make someone sad.... Or mad ..... Or glad ....lol ... Love the one post wonder comment too..like you need to live on a board to get some street cred. GTFOOH

Semp1, you are actually slightly incorrect on a couple of issues speaking of recent Lieutenants' Exams. The 2003 exam went for nearly 4 full years, but not quite, you are correct in that everyone got made. The passing score was set at a raw score of 81, which was a few years before the mandate of the 2006 Sgt exam and every promotional exam since that 70 or better raw score is passing or to make a list.
Before the 70 rule, an arbitrary passing score was set which I believe they based on anticipated need for the rank in the upcoming years. So the 2003 Lt exam you needed an 81 raw score just to make the list. The 2006 Lt exam you needed a 70 to make the list but I think (not exactly certain) people died on the list with scores in the mid to high 70's simply bc it was a list of about 1200 and they only got to about what you said which accurate, around 750 after 4 years. The exam expired and was not cut which you have accurately pointed out several times.
Before the 2006 Sgt exam though, the previous two Sgt exams before that were in fact cut, but those exams were given well over a decade ago and the 70 raw score to make a list was not in effect yet. The 2003 exam got into the 1100+ range and I am not 100% certain but the exam before that got into the 1300+ range. Both were similar list sizes to the 2011 exam, but the 2011 exam had better scoring by candidates overall.
Also the 4 year expiration rule did not always exist either, when I got on the job I spoke to Sgt's and Lt's that told me their respective promotional exam lasted as long as 8 years and over 2000+ people would be on the list! So my point of all of this is the rules are like a moving goalpost that seem to change all the time.
Also did anyone have any idea the last Sgt exam would throw 130 questions what has been a 100 question exam as long as anyone can remember? No one except DCAS and the PC has any control over this current list. If the PC wants to win over some goodwill, perhaps he should let everyone who passed get promoted.
Why are you still talking? No one cares. Go away. You are a f*cking nerd that prob got beat up in high school and now you are a cop posting on promotional web sites hoping cops don't get promoted. It's kinda pathetic

But basically what you're telling me is I'm right. All Lt tests have gone either to exhaustion or at least the maximum 4 years not the minimum 1 year in the last 10 years. Which is a "rule" set in place by DCAS in regards to all civil service tests/lists. So that rule is followed because there is no reason to arbitrarily cut lists when you have a passing grade implemented which is basically a pre cut and when you have lists that are filled with eligibles. And grades have nothing to do with cut offs. The NOE would state how many spots were needed 81 was just where that list hit the number required. The grade isn't what mattered. The NOE now says you need a 70 to make the list Which I am sure you are aware of. any way, whats your obsession with the 2011 list? Seriously. It's a little weird that a guy whose supposedly as you say 2 ranks above us is so concerned with our test and list that consistently for the last 2 years has randomly come on and let us know how our list might get cut. Maybe before the test was given you claiming you're just trying to give good advice and push us to study for the 2013 made sense. But now that both tests are done with whats the point besides just to stir the pot. And that's why you're a Troll.
It's all good semp. If he is actually a boss somewhere I feel bad for his cops. He's the boss everyone makes fun of behind their backs bc no one likes him. A do nothing cop that is now a boss telling people what to do. Shots fired comes over and he cries a little on the inside. There is a lot of p*ssies on this job and he's def one of them. Truth hurts..
I know quite a few people on the 2011 exam that are in the same boat as you guys and when they say "Risingstar forum says..." and I know for a fact something is wrong or inaccurate, I check it out and try to share accurate knowledge I have. I am not lying about anything or making up stuff that isn't true. When people don't like what I post they tend to jump all over it and attack me personally.
I have always maintained and still do I have no idea whether or not this list will get cut. My advice all along was to take the 2013 exam just in case, that longer matters. Anyway some of you resorting to name calling over someone bringing up the possibility of a list cut I think says a lot about what kind of boss you will be...

why did u come back after the 2013 was stablished?
U.. PatrolGuideismyBible remind me of someone who had enough time to create multiple personalities on this site.. Got promoted, went to the boogie down and got demoted....
I wouldnt be surprised if the guys behind the screen getting paid to monitor this site have gotten enough time to pick up on ur Edpish behavior.
Please sir do urself and everyone a favor... Move on with ur life and switch over to the Capt's link.
Ur opinions are not welcome here.... when everyone else is talking about the list moving u come back from the ashes to ''Keep pushing on a topic that has already been said and done''.
U are definately a red flag sir.
Only one username and I already failed the last Captains exam as did pretty much everyone that took it. Not much news there on anything other than to study for the next one or skip it? Also many on this board seem to spread bad info that I know is wrong, so I take the time to set it right. I am often called a liar, but everything I presented as fact is actually true and many of you which I can tell, have had to eat crow over it.
Anyway this thread, board, topic, whatever isn't about me, so you shouldn't attempt to make it that, that doesn't do anyone any good. Nothing anyone can do now but wait and see. If this entire 2011 Sgt exam does get made, it would be the most people made from one promotional list since the 1990's, I find it interesting in some strange way.

Anything is possible, but I do I agree with some of the users here. Patrolguide seems very passionate about the 2011 list getting cut. Even though there's no evidence you find a way to articulate it. Its pretty pathetic, btw not everyone failed the captain's test and maybe if you spent your time studying instead of spewing worthless negative information you would have passed too.
