just a question how long until the activated new list im very very scare no one wants to talk about it 1200 is looking to july or august. the 1300 oct November. in oct the 2013 test ill have a year i dont one to scare no body but im getting worried/

Before I post this I want to say that I never believed the 2011 list would be cut, and I still don't, but I am worried and I'll explain why.

When these trolls use to post that they had info on the list being cut it was laughable because it was too early to predict that. It made no sense, and it rarely happens. On top of that, we have seen in the past that exam list have been held for a year while a current list was exhausted. With that being said...

A while back there was a pretty accurate calculation someone did here that basically said that if there was a BMOC every month, at the current rate they are promoting, it would be 46 each month. Taking that number when that post was made would put the end of this list around March-April, about a year after the 2013 list would come out (because it's usually 6 months after the test.) This further confirmed my belief that the 2011 list was good! Because it was just a year...

BUT NOW...at this rate, this list seems to be extending into May, possibly even June of 2015. Now I am not saying its going to be cut, but has anyone seen a list continue a year after another list has been established?

Again, this is assuming this list comes out in April, which I think it will.

If I am mistaken in any of these facts, please let me know, I am just sharing my thoughts.

the problem with us cops is that we dont learn to accept facts. few of us are worried but not ones has the ball to say it. if htey dont put a big class this list have a bigg chance of getting cut. lets see option because i dont like the way is going. the 1300 maybe by octobre nov dec. the problem is that 2013 should be comming out hopefully it doesnt

I passed the 13 exam, but I am pulling for the 11 list as well because I have a lot of buddies at the tail end, and it's not right if they cut it.

HOWEVER, you are right Kevin...cops refused to accept anything that might warp their perfect reality, and at this rate this list is crawling. I am still believing all we be made, but I am also being realistic.

The 2009 test was established but no one was promoted until the 2008 list was complete. The clock doesn't start until the first promotion. Will this be cut? No one knows. But it still has 2 years to go before it expires, and if that's the case everyone will get made. Speculation will only drive you guys nuts.

Yes, you're right, it still has 2 years to go, and yes...in 2009 the list was established but no one promoted...I stated all this...but my "wondering" was, was any list held for over a year until the last list was exhausted? 2009 was held close to a year if I am not mistaken. I am just saying I can't see them holding the 13 list for OVER A YEAR and the 11 list seems to be going over that, at this rate. And just because it has 2 years to go does not mean that it HAS TO BE ON FOR TWO MORE YEARS.

I think it's important for those at the end of the 11 list to consider possibilities. I know some of my buddies are actually passing up transfers because they want to ride it out until they get made. Thinking about different possibilities helps people plan. Maybe your wanting to get promoted to get out of where you are and your not applying because you are waiting to get made....maybe you should be making moves...get what I am saying?

You are right about one thing....IT IS ALL SPECULATION.

I still feel the 11 list will get made.

I agree, nothing wrong with planning and anticipating every possible outcome. I'm just saying that based on history, it's likely the list will run its course. Maybe I didn't express it well. I didn't mean that it will definitely go the entire 4 years. I basically meant to say if the list isn't cut, everyone will definitely be made well before expiration, and history backs up the notion that '13 exam promotions won't begin until '11 is done, even after establishment of the list. Of course, it can be cut and all this will be moot. I just wanted to give some reassurances that the scale is more in favor of list exhaustion than it is the alternative.

I agree but the only this that people are not touching on is that April is the end of the second year to this list. As per dcas a list is good for no less than one year no more than 4 years. That being said after the one year mark the department gets a list extention for a one year period. This April is the end of the list extention. Something to think about.

Getting close to the end of the fiscal year. The new budgets starts in July and I think you will see big classes from July until December.

Actually, if I recall correctly, she once said she didn't know, and that no one really does.

Good point made by Mangas, though. If it's not cut by next month it's most likely good for another year, which may be all that is needed to exhaust it.

List is not getting cut. SMH. April is the actual 24th month active. Next month, this month, last month has nothing to do with list cuts. Matter of fact the whole conversation is irrelevant. This is why this forum is so dead. People don't want to waste their time any more coming here. How is this even a topic still?

No one knows how the next class will look. Including Emd/Personnel. They are unaware until a week before.

List starts from 1003 and seems to end with 1046 but:
List numbers 1062- Walker, 1104- Aparo, and 1457- Barnes
Are on the list.

Some of those higher list numbers are adjusted for physical fitness points or other things and were not reflected on the list shown on this forum.

That's not true cause my list was updated when they gave me my pt points from run. They adjusted my score by 50 names. Someone in the 1400's. That's some serious ex points

Mine was adjusted by a couple of names and is reflected on the list here, Aparos list # was dropped from 1104 to in the 1040's, they did not calculate his physical fitness points.

That would actually be the EARLIEST right now. You're not going to see this list hit 1400 anytime before Nov, and I would not be surprised if Jan 2015 we are still in the 1400's. I don't think people grasp how truly and dangerously slow this list is moving.

Dangerously slow in the sense that people growing more impatient. If promotions continue at this current rate further into the year then yea, scratch your head and say wtf..otherwise, I don't see any irregularities in promotion rate.

I keep trying to tell my old partner this. He has a pretty sweet gig in the medical division with a bunch of OT, but Sgt still trumps that, even on patrol. I was the one saying what he is now for 10 years, I know how badly I messed up by waiting so long to do this. Two years in, I wouldmy trade it for anything.

I see nothing dangerous about how it's moving. I actually don't think it's slow moving at all. How fast you want a list with 1600+ names to move? They've promoted over 1000 in 24 months. It will continue to move at the regular average pace it has since before I'm sure you or I were on this job. And I'm sticking with Nov/Dec. we shall see.

by the end of this April 2014.. 120 names will be promoted. Seems to be the best year so far.
