All the sites say that the old list is at 668 out of 781 but they have not been updated since 10/4. Is there a class in now? And if so, how many people are in it? Just trying to get an idea of when I might be promoted with an 88. Also I heard they cancelled the January class of rookies, so I don't know how that will effect us.
I heard they cancelled the whole academy class because too much money was spent on OWS OT. I assume if there is no academy class the list will move a bit slower because there will be less demand for sgts. I'm really curious if anyone is in BMOC now or if everything is in limbo right now.
No one cancelled anything, yet. A friend of mine who is processing to go in for January knows someone in APD and hasn't heard anything about a class being cancelled. I'm sure if this person in APD had heard any info about a class being cancelled they would call him and let him know. There is no Sgt's class in for November and the rumor is that there will be none for December. Next Sgt's class to go in is rumored January. There's around 120 people left on the '09 list which is basically 2 classes or 3 smaller classes. I'm going to assume they should start promoting off the '11 list by spring or early summer. From the sounds of it, this will be a very big list compared to the ones they've had. With an 88 a safe guess would probably be another year from now, give or take a few months. That also depends on how many people leave the job. There are big classes set to be eligible for retirement within the next few years so depending on that it could move faster or slower. Best advice, don't burn any bridges, do what you need to do and you will be promoted before you know it.

No November class in right now. Traditionally there is usually a December class for Christmas but I think that its up in the air. The new list will probably be established by the spring with about 1250 candidates give or take. Dont worry a 70 will get you promoted eventually, just stay out of trouble and do what you got to do. Be safe out there and remember your tactics and location !

I have family in APD that said they were orginally going to put 1700 in this january, but due to occupy wall street (budget) they might cut it down to 1000. So if all goes well feb or march we get our list numbers. At least I hope.

Hey brother, I'm not sure where your getting your intel from but the 2009 Sergeants list which is the current one is at 669. They haven't had a BMOC class since October. The last class was 72 with 7 passover which brought it to 669. Im not sure about the academy classes.
neg that 668 does not reflect the last 72 that went in. I know 2 guys that went in and both of their list numbers were 730-739. Thats what they told me at least.
669 is in my pct and hes not a holdover or jammed up and has his credits, maybe they misinformed you but if you check up on it youll see that brother. No disrespect

First your boy who got a 91.3 on the 2009 Sgt test was 219 on the list when you can clearly look at the thread and tell that was B.S. Now your posting this stupid nonsense about being at 740 on the current list when anyone who's been following knows that the last number that went in is 668. Lol...the list is at 669. I'm below 700. There are 110 people left on this list. They are splitting the remaining names into 2 classes of 60 with a few pass overs thrown in to each.

Oh yea, Only 49 people got 90+ on the 2009 exam.

How does it usually work? Do they usually make everyone off an old list before establishing a new one? Or can they establish our list while the last 45 from the 09 list wait to be put in to BMOC?
A class of 54 are going in on jan 2nd. They still have to promote list numbers 726 to 781 on the 09 list plus several that have been passed over but will get promoted in the last class. That leaves 56 plus 10 to 20 that the job will allow to get promoted. Hopefully, they will put a big class in March or April and start promoting from our list in May June or July.
The retirement rate if you look has slowed down consideraby. It should pick up again in April May when guys start to take terminal. Don't let 2011 fool you, they don't usually promote 700 guys in a year. Of course, you never know.
