NYPD NEW TESTING FORMAT

I personally do not believe anyone in here would have been opposed to this new way of testing if the Dpt had given prior notice and reference materials. I saw many fellow Sgts very dedicated for this exam. We were treated as guinnie pigs in this new venture and it feels like dejavue all over again from the 2007 Sgt's test. I studied pretty hard this time and walked out feeling robbed. My site had very rude DCAS personnel. There weren't any clocks in the rooms and not food was allowed in the building.  OMG!!!!! its going to be a long winter Lol. I'm sorry guys, i know its not THE RANT but I had to vent a little.

Sorry, but apparently theres been a rule in effect for a couple of years, where dcas is not responsible to provide clocks nor(or is it "or"- don't know what standard english is)provide you with updates on time, or write out when the test offically began. It was up to you to keep track of the time, not that it even mattered bc we could still be taking the test right now, still scratching our heads. As far as the food aspect, I don't know if your lying or not, but you absolutely could bring food in.

Look dude, i didnt come here to stear the pot. I was just pointing out the negatives at at my testing site Dodge HS in the Bronx. Plenty of guys had to throw their food out before entering the building. It took plenty of arguing and 15 mins later the rule was changed. Half the building disposed of their food by that time. Oh by the way I am one of those second language Sgts with just 16 yrs in the country. 11 1/2 on the job and 4 in rank. I did get to finish the test and wish eveyone in this board good luck.

Out at 20, Sorry for the snappy response, it was totally humillating the way the Bronx site was treated. It was out of control

dont worry about it, if they made me throw my food out, I would have flipped out, I took it by 1pp and we had no issues.

It felt like a scene from Goodfellas Ha ha!! Guys were asking girls to smuggle their heroes and bagels in their purses. Only on this job, see you at the protest. Any good response for the evesdropping female locker question???

no f ing clue, i thought according to the patrol guide you couldnt enter the female locker room except for inpsections, emergencys or exigencys, but that test wasnt based on the patrol guide.

This entire exam needs to be thrown out, if one person gets promoted off it and another one doesnt than that will not be right

No need to be sorry. That's the whole point of the blog. We definitely have to vent our frustrations, especially after such a ridiculous exam that the majority of us spent valuable time and money to prepare for.

My proctor at Lincoln HS refused to tell us how much time we had left for the test yet she said we can ask another Sgt in the classroom! WTF?!

That was bull****. Many people had clocks in their classrooms where others did not. If they provided the time in those classrooms without clocks there would be no issue. But you can't have a classroom with a clock and one without and call it a fair setting. Many many people did not finish this exam because they had no clue how much time remained. If they would have advised us to bring a watch along with the calculator and pencils so be it, but refuse to give us the time is just non-sensical

Realized very quickly how much I have come to depend on my cell phone for the time.
