Its become a well oiled machine of anticipation, notifications, pass-overs, and finest messages. Every body left basically knows what to expect other than actual dates.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when the finest comes down, doesn't it state for you to report to the police academy and not 1PP? I've heard that there's an inspector that interviews you if you've had excessive sicks, ccrb's, and maybe some other things prior to you being put into bmoc. Sounds like he's going there to meet with that inspector. Just my assumption.

i talked to vlad a little. he has to show up to 1pp on the 22nd in dress uniform. any idea if that is a good sign for a dec class quagmire?

Not at all. It just means that he has to go see the inspector. It could be for anything...ccrb, activity, sick record, force mon. Good luck to him.

He is 752, thats a good sign. It means that they basically cleared everyone on the list. (Of course not including the people jammed up)

So no one in here knows anything about a december class, how pathetic is that? I'm sure there is some information out there, so I propose that as cops we should use our resources and skills to find out what the hell is going on.

So let's get on the phone, call people up and have some solid infirmation posted here by monday, wtf!!!

The only thing that i am getting through the grapevine is... promotions on December 23rd, which will include Lt's, Capt's, Dt's, and a few xmas gratuitous/discretionary promotions. For some reason the rank of Sgt is eerily missing.

Something tells me a finest will come down December 28 2011 for a January 2, 2012 SLA class. I won't rule it out because it will only make sense. wink

Since we are not hearing anything that can be confirmed for a class to go in for December.... Im pretty sure there will not be a December class. I feel like its to close for no one to hear anything. The silence is deafening. Oh well, I guess we can pray for a January class. I hope I'm wrong about a December class.... it would be a great early Christmas gift if the finest does come down next week... Happy Holidays and stay safe all!!!

I posted here a month ago that the next class will be in January, but some of you thought I was faking it and didn't believe it. Anyway, this morning I called Lt at 1pp that I know regarding the next class and he got back to me later today saying that the rumor is no class till January. it's not official but it's coming from a reliable source according to him.

Why is it safe to say? If there is they would go in next week with a FINEST message coming down between Tuesday and Thursday, and since it's a Holiday it would come down before Thursday. So far, Brat has been the only reliable source of inside info and she has disappeared. I don't care if the company sgt from your sister company 10 years ago now works in 1PP and he heard a guy at a urinal next to him on the 14tu floor say he heard there won't be a class until April, I don't believe you.

I agree, but there has not been any indications of a possible class. Traditionally there has been a class every other month, as well as every December; it would make sense for a class to go in. Not to mention some points that were posted previously like a large recruit class graduating, a new list in the works, 2 lieutenants classes since the last Sgt class (Vacancies), retirements, and most importantly a shortage of Sgts department wide.

Even with all the stuff listed, I really think that the next class will be January.

Yes next sergeant class will be in January, with all the retirements and promotions to LTS its likely the job will max out with 2 back to back classes.

I contacted a lot of ppl over the weekend and nobody knows anything about a December class! It's clearly however that the dept. is working on setting up the next class, probably for January though. I know two ppl that are 75+ ppl away on the list and they had to go see the the famous inspector last friday at 1pp. Bottom line, everything is pointing out to a january class. As of now, a December class would just be a pleasant surprise to everyone, but it seems very unlikely :( In the mean time everybody be safe, stay out of trouble, enjoy the holidays and let's just keep hoping for the best.

A couple of weeks ago I read some place that January class was canceled, if 1500 do go in that's great news for everyone.

Another thing, IF there will be a December bmoc, finest should come tomorrow Wednesday before thanksgiving, gosh that would be a nice thanksgiving lol

I have a friend going through the processing to get on the job and as of now there is no mention of the academy class being cancelled which to me sounds like good news. The fact that our well of information(aka Brat) has dried up and there hasn't been any definite talk like there was for the past 5 promotions makes me think December is a no go. I hope I am wrong.

Tomorrow would be the day a FINEST would come down for a December class. There would be more chatter on here if a class was inevitable. Regardless of the source.

Multiple people have posted that January is a possibility. We will all find out for sure tomorrow. At this point we all should be enjoying our holiday season. Enjoy the fact that you have enough time allowing you to spend it with your family. Because we can kiss that privilege good bye for a few years once promoted.
