I lost all my faith in this job after they put in that "small" b moc class. I can see the city dragging the list out to jan. with 3 more "small" b moc classes and then establishing our list in jan. I mean y else would the job put such a small class in now if that wasn't there intentions? just something to think about.......

They probably come out with a list in September, but it is highly unlikely for promotions during that month because of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) that is held in NYC every year for about two and half weeks.

I don't think that they have enough guys for anymore small classes. They reached the end of this list, with 20something guys passed over for time and another 20something passed over for unk reasons(jammed up, resigned, etc.). I believe the next class that goes in will contain 08 guys. They only put in a small class because thats all they had available to them.

I think your list will come out after Sept 23rd so they get more money for the next exam. Possibly the next class going in October. This is not any fact, it is just my opinion.

The rumor is correct if your talking about career transfer points. As for the promotion to Sergeant exam, nope.

Everyone gets 1-7 points with 7 being the max possible.

cat u r the worse kind of cop for a young sgt to have in his squad. u will automatically size him up due to his lack of time n think that he has no clue what's going on. u think u r intitled to something cuz of your time? time doesnt mean shiit. common sense means something. my squad sgt has 15 yrs on and doesnt have a clue. but the c2 sgt with 5 yrs on is the sharpest guy u would ever meet. ponder on that for a second next time u wanna call out "young sgt's"

It's kind of embarrasing that we are going to be Sgts and we carry on like we are teenagers..Let's face it..Im sure everyone has met many characters on this job whether you have time on or not that can be major BIG ONES...I think we have an idea of what kind of boss we want to be...time will only tell what kind of boss you will turn into...this job can make you or break you...stay focused!

WOW!? I logged on to this forum from time to time to get information on protest, possible list release dates, throw outs, etc, and general information relevant to this site on the 2008 test. However, with all the Internet Thuggery going on Im really turned off w/ this public forum. Remember cops arent the only people that log on to this site. Im very embarrassed on the type of back and forth immature fighting that is displayed by the future "front line of the NYPD". Who really cares if they put the information out first. All we care about is that the information is accurate. If you were to check on the Lt. and the Capt forums you dont see this kind of stupidity. Just the cops. We are our own worst enemy. there isn't any info on the list yet for anybody.

Educ & Track received from DCAS the top 150 ppl from 2008 Exam. That list had names with no list numbers. For some reason DCAS is not giving out that info. Educ & Track said they have no info on when the list will be out.

1pp had the list for awhile now , like I said it will be out the last week in august the first week in september the latest! trust me that is when it will be out.

Most likely true. DCAS gives the list to the dept. concerned and the Dept. concerned reviews the list and approves it and then the list gets stamped, the stamp makes it official.

I received a certified letter from the education tracking unit congratulating me on being a candidate for promotion and that they have no credits on record for me lol. So now I have to go to my college and get a transcript sent to them. It's amazing how I got hired with no credits when I had over 100 when I went into the academy.
