Just wanted to get a consensus of what people think about the 2006 Lt's list? Will everyone get promoted off the list? Bottom line is we'll have to wait and see but just wanted to throw it out there.
The guys at the end of the list should start a lawsuit. It worked for the 2003 list. They were crying about the residency points, I'm sure you can come up with something. Then the PC will feel the pressure and over promote again and start the whole vicious cycle again.
I cannot see any possible way they will come anywhere close to exhausting this list. Plus here is a hint that the job has no intentions on doing so. In prior lists they made those lists based on anticipated vacancies (1000 + ties, etc). And the job had to pull out all the stops to exhaust the 2003 list cause they were way off with their anticipating. Starting with this list, anyone with a 70 or above makes it. You could of had three thousand people on this list if that amount scored a 70. Plus like I said in a previous post a big difference between the beginning of the 2003 list and our current situation is the following.....There were many vacancies at the beginning of the 2003 list and retirements came at a quick and steady pace. This is no longer happening. Zero vacancies and if fact 40+ over quota and the new wave is to stay over 20 yrs. Promotions off this list are gonna start to mirror the pace that captains used to get promoted. You will have a month with promotions and then skip 2 or 3 months for the next batch. This used to rarely happen with Lieutenants. You would get a class almost every month or maybe skip one month once in awhile. The pace of this list will effect many including possibly myself. Look at your finest people. How many Lt's do you see retiring? The proof is in black and white. They aren't leaving. I personally know one Lt who just hit 25 yrs and is staying and know 4 others approaching 25 and they all said they aren't leaving! This is killing me already!!! Is this new wave of Lt's staying to 25 now changing to 30??!!! I give up!!!
Ok what kind of lawsuit could you possibly start up? At least the 2003 group had a legitimate gripe and the reason their lawsuit didn't go through is because the statue of limitations ran out on them. They filed it too late. There is nothing we can sue about. The pace of future promotions will show who should be worried and who shouldn't.
What are all you dummies with 70's complaining about. You don't deserve to be promoted. You don't even deserve to be Sergeants. Study harder next time and get a real score and then maybe you'll be deserving of a white shirt.
That would be an impossible guess at this point....They haven't even started the list. If someone could figure out the amount promoted in the year 2007, and then times that by 4, that would give you an idea. You can't include the 68 people from the last class, as those were over budget. Whatever number that equals, I would say it would be a bit less because people are leaving less and less. Even the Captains list is dragging. Its three months for them already and I hear they are still over quota. There is no good news at all.
