No worries. Ed & I are actively working to bring you all the very best questions found anywhere. As you know, they're specifically designed to be challenging in a way that induces learning & memorization (others will tell you that there is a method to our madness). After the months of studying have concluded, your promotion rests upon your ability to correctly answer 100 multiple choice questions....why chance it with inaccurate or poorly designed questions intended to make you feel good with a false sense of confidence? Rising Star takes the opposite approach to ensure your readiness and since 2006, our students have consistently placed at the top of all promotional lists because of our questions. We look forward to getting you promoted! More to come soon.....

Tony

Guys,

Please make the questions so that we can re-take them as needed. Been a loyal fan of your questions but after the Lt. exam questions and getting stuck only being able to test myself once really made me re-think my subscription for this exam. The main thing for me and i can probably speak for most is the ability to test our knowledge continuously.

Yes, we've responded to student feedback and we will have a more robust user experience which includes multiple attempts to answer the questions!

My testing days are long over. I'm an Elite guy but for the aspiring Captains do yourself a favor and order the Rising Star package as soon as Tony & Ed release it! In addition to Elite, I ordered the Rising Star package as well. Rising Star saved me on the Lt & Capt Exam and is the difference maker in being at the top of the list or the bottom of the list. Look at it as an investment but also as an insurance policy in case things go sideways with a poorly written DCAS exam. Hopefully you guys get a fair exam but with DCAS in charge...who knows! Leave no stone unturned and may the force be with you! 9 heroes forever!

Details for our 2026 Captain course will be released in the next few weeks. While the official test date has not yet been announced, we expect it to take place in September or later.

The course is anticipated to begin in mid-March, giving you approximately six months or more to prepare. This is plenty of time — pace yourself and don’t burn out!

Course information will be posted here and on our website.

Later then September would be terrible considering other courses already had us start studying in early November talking about a June test

Yeah, the admin bulletin said "anticipated in September" so I'm not sure why they started courses in November. Seems painfully early.

so sad but true..I feel for my other exams the courses were like 6-8 months before the exam, or werent even announced until the exam was. At this stage the course will be done 4 month before test day smh. Talk about losing steam.

I just signed up for Rising Star. Their new app demo looks pretty cool with lots of useful feedback. Not sure why the other schools don't have anything like this. The Key app is real antiquated and glitchly. This new Rising Star thing has me somewhat excited to study and see where I sit among everyone else.

Are all 1500 questions on Captain related duties?

The questions relate to all ranks/duties that a newly promoted captain is responsible for - this includes captain, lieutenant, sergeants and p.o. duties. Exactly what you'd see on exam day.

Just banged out the first section. Love all the data the lms gives but man, I forgot how angry your questions make me lmao, in a good way. Youngn's these days will have such a leg up with study metrics that we never got during the days of pen and paper exams. Anyway loving it so far.

Happy to hear this! Especially the part about how angry the questions make you. As you know, we do this intentionally - learning & retention are built into our questions by design (not Ai generated crap). Get them wrong NOW, so it will never happen on exam day.

As far as the new LMS/app, we put a significant amount of money and effort into it to give you the best experience and diagnostic feedback on where you stand during your study journey. We think it's by far the best available, but you all will let us know. We appreciate any feedback to improve.

Good luck and study hard!!

Based off all the feedback Ive gotten from peers about the rising star questions I may give it a shot even though I have a nut hair of a chance being eligible for the exam. Heres to hoping they push it back just a little ha

Ive said it before on this forum, but Ive taken both schools for the exams before. I really dont understand how their classes are underway so early without a set exam date. Perplexing.

Whenever there's a hint of an exam, it's off to the races for Key & Elite to see who can grab the most students ($$$) first.

Jesus!! I heard Rising Star was going all out with a new app. This thing is ridiculous with what it does and what it shows you on performance. And glad they finally allow taking questions as many times as you want. Cool stuff!
