Normally, its three Bureau Chiefs and/or a Deputy Commissioner questioning you about your disciplinary issues, mainly the major ones that caused you to appear before them. The key point is that you are held to the principles of responsibility and accountability for all your actions. However, if you get defensive or try to cover up your mistakes, they will press you even harder, making it much more difficult to get through CARB
Exactly what above said. No matter how right you think your actions were, the department decided differently. Take responsibility & accountability. Be apologetic. Have a response to how you learned from your mistakes before they even ask you for it. Be sincere. Dont fight them on anything. You dont have to kiss ass you just have to say you fucked up & I learned from it & you strive every day to be a better version of yourself and a better officer. CARB also shouldve been fixed to affect only ppl up to 5-7 years since their hiccup. Mine was 11 years & I still went. I was in and out & I was told I was prime example of ppl who shouldnt have to face CARB. It cost me 8 months of promotion from my list # being called. With delays in promotions to delay in my CARB meeting. Its not fair to those whove paid their dues but completely fair to those a who are within a 5 years threshold.
