You may start to see people using their terminal leave because people are going to start retiring from the 2004 July class and the January class of 2005. Depending upon the amount of people projected to retire versus the amount of people that actually go out, you may start seeing big classes in December 2024 and Continue on in 2025.
The Academy class going in is about 1000 recruits, if the next class going in in January is same size, theyre going to start to need more supervisors.

Heard they cleared 100 sgts, 50 LTs and 15 captains. These are just clearances but promos seem to be trending towards half of what they clear usually. Im hoping for 75 personally but 50 does make more sense based off the clearances

I'm hearing the same clearance numbers, however... I'm also hearing that NYPD does not want to promote SGT's this class but City Hall is requesting that they promote at least 50.

No disrespect, but where I heard it from doesn't matter, just asking for someone to confirm this because it makes sense. The job promoted 1,252 SGTS in 17 classes which is record breaking. I'm sure these promotions have minimized the vacancies.

Excellent 70 is good, wonder how many are gonna be holdover's. Looks like theres about 43 total holdovers. Wonder how many are going to be in this class

I think the next big batch of hold overs will be in January when they make 5 1/2 years.
I know the commissioner is swearing in on Monday not sure where they do the swearing in, so the chair setup could be for that. hopefully it is for promotions

Just got a call that the Finest will drop on Monday promotion on Wednesday this sucks for people that have family traveling in, the flights are ridiculous to travel on Wednesday guess my sister wont make it
Promotions on Wednesday on Thanksgiving week? That doesnt make a lot of sense. Will they be off Thanksgiving and then go to BMOC for one day and be off again? Why would the department take that many MOS off the street right before a big detail?

Thats exactly what I said, at this point nothing surprises me, when it comes down it comes down at this point!
Pc donlon approved promotions, new pc just swore in today and did not approve of anything. So I hate to say it, but promos may not happen this month. Im not saying there is zero chance but it does indeed not look all that promising. Very last minute to get promotions done.
This job is highly disorganized at the moment, expect the unexpected. I don't remember the last time they didn't have November and December promotions in the last 20years
