Its been over 5 months since the exam was administered. if you or someone you know is scheduled for a make up exam (excluding military) and dont mind sharing, please do. Lets keep it to concrete facts and no assumptions. No need to troll if you failed, I failed but will still try and help others. Lets see if we can determine on our own if make ups are over.
Make-ups aren't really relevant; the list can be established before people take a make-up exam, and be added to the list afterwards. For example, there are make-up folks for the recent Captains exam who weren't included in the list and will instead be added later.
I think the more pressing matter is the current status of protest review (TVB). Once that's done, the points can be added and the list can be established. This forum has been rather dead, so who knows where they currently are in that process.
The main makeup day happened a couple of months ago....
no drawing???
yeah but apparently you need to be cleared. I know two people who were out during the original test day and they were back full duty for that first MAKE UP date but werent cleared to take it yet so they were informed that they will be given the exam at another time.
There was a makeup and they got their scores after clicking submit. Also DCAS told a buddy of mine they were expecting way more people at the Queens location so a lot of people didnt even show up.
Historically the job doesnt go longer than 4-5 months without putting in a class, even during covid i believe it was 5/6 months. Only thing we can do now is wait and hope we get our scores by February with the first class going in March (4 months)

If you think about it they just promoted over 100 last month they may not need to do any this month here in january. Next month in feb apparently there are still some holdovers from this last list to finish it off. I dont know how many but I keep hearing there are, if so..that can be the promotion for Feb. they can then go maybe 2/3 months without promoting, that takes us to may. We may not see any movement or news from our list until may the earliest lol. sucks.
Dude, the list is expired the end of Jan. They cant promote anyone off it after Jan.
Thats what Ive said Man lol. I also believe they hit each name theyre gonna promote off this list and anyone whos passed over isnt getting made. some people have insisted to me that holdovers are getting made and can get made after the list expires. I dont believe it but I guess its possible and something for us to keep in the back of our minds lol.
The 2017 Sergeants list EXPIRES on January 23rd, 2023. If any of the holdovers CANNOT BE cleared by January 23rd, 2023 they DIE on the list. NO ONE ..... NO ONE will be promoted after January 23, 2023 from the 2017 Sergeants Exam. The 2017 Sergeants exam was given a COVID extension of 1-year. It's done...

im totally in agreeance with you. if they promote a small class of lets say 25 sgts, i guess theoretically that can hold them off until April or May. But is 25 really enough? Considering that Sgts are down like hundreds of bosses from just a few years ago in manpower.
I can see them doing a joint class with holdovers and the top cops from this list. but again its all speculation and its all rumors and nothing with this job is set in stone until it happens. all we have to do is wait but once we get those list numbers we will be very happy
it is anyones guess at this point. Historically how quick do they promote off of a list once it is established? Reason I ask is because I highly doubt anyone will make it to the 2023 lt exam. So therefore can a list be established in Jan but no promotion til after march? for this reason I find it more realistic that a list is going to be established either after the lt exam or right before.
If the department gets the list around late January, how long would it take for them to add all of the points? Isnt that how it works anyways? DCAS sends the department list, the job then adjusts it with all of the seniority/run/JST points, etc.
Not saying your wrong.. But, isnt it always been historically true that a list does not die/expire until a new list has been established and hired upon..?

that exam def expires on a specific date this jan. Someone posted in the 2017 sgt forum showing the exact date.

Know a military guy who took the makeup and got in the low 80s -_- hes not the sharpest tool in the shed and he was out partying almost every weekend. Wonder how close the makeup was to the real exam

from what I have heard, legally it cant be that different from the original.
Young Papi, yet to be a doctor. The list will come on the day the sun meets the horizon which guards the mighty Pacific. You shall say though, "Wise Ram, this happens but every day, as sure as Marie Frith was a cut-purse." Truth is to be found in your questioning, Papi. For it is not the day in which the sun sets like any other, instead it is a special day of setting. It will be the one rife with jubilation. The air will be dense with it, in such a way that Helios himself will appear to tread water as he sinks. Under the aromatic clouds of joy, exists a truth. A stinking mass of disappointment and neglect. An oozing orifice on a proud department. Jaded by an exam it had not prepared for, and bitter about a raise that will seemingly never come. Of course I speak of the proletariat chained by a lack of mobility. Time will tell what happens at that point. One thing will lay true for sure though, the "list" will be among us.
