How many hours are you putting in and are you patrol ? Admin ? Etc. If the exam is announced to be in august are you planning on rolling back your studying or are you keeping it the same ? Im patrol and feel I can only get around 2 hours, maybe 3 a day. with family and everything its hard especially with kids

Kids and family life make it especially hard. With work, family, and kids id say im getting a solid 3 hours on a work day and about 6-8 RDOs. I know it sucks not getting to spend as much time with the family but just know its something temporary that benefits them in the long run.

And for the people who are studying 6+ hours. What do you study? Are you studying the old material in addition to the new stuff ?
What works for other people probably wont work for you. Everyone works at a different pace and absorbs materials differently. You can sit and read for 10hrs and only absorb the first 2 hrs at which point your just wasting youre time after that. I have realized the best way to study is just focus on what works for you and not worry about what other people are doing. Many lie on how they study and how long they study while swearing they know everything. Best way is to Hustle in silence at the end of the day everyone is youre competition in this forum for the next exam.
I have 2 kids under 3yrs old ima be honest when i get home i dont get to study..im a full time dad & husband. Im transit so right now this blood mandated OT is beyond ridiculous. Days 1-5 post and ore tour. So im only able to study on RDOs if i leave the house to library for 3hrs max. When i dnt have pre-tour OT. I get up at 4:30-5am study 1-1.5hrs b4 tour & My 1hr meal. So i mean yea its extremely difficult. This the best time to be single with no kids because you can go GHOST/MIA on everyone especially the 1st half of the summer since August is anticipated date. I personally havent slowed down since im only getting 2-3hrs to begin with , besides i dont want to get burnt out. Im a few weeks behind in mikes elite class.

You have kids ? Howre you getting that in ?
Yes. A lot of sacrifice on sleep and a lot of help from my wife and parents. I dont know your living situation but I sat my wife down early on and explained what its going to take to do well on this test and she was in agreement that the short term sacrifices now are better for our family in the long run. Like others have said, you have to do what works best for you. I cant sit more than 3 hours at one time and retain so on my rdos I usually break it into a day time session and night time session. It works for me. My partner on the other hand has to sit 6 hours straight through because two session doesnt work for him. At the end of the day it sucks and its time consuming but just know its temporary. At this point between family, work and studying I'm lucky to be getting 4 hours of sleep a night. Just Keep at it and find out what works for you.
I try to study EVERYDAY....mon-fri at all times reading doing the key and rising questions...saturday and sunday i do study but i take it a little easy like a little break but back at it again. On patrol i study on my meals and while on directeds. At home wen im holding my son i study and when everyone is asleep i try to sneak some studying in as well. Its hard for all of us whether we have a family or not but it will pay off. Im sure as long as u do at least an hour or more everyday u will b fine. Jus dont burn urself out
Most of the inside hamsters pass bc they study at work. That's why they are terrible supervisors bc they haven't been on patrol or know anything patrol related and then go back to their admin spot then get to study for lt.
1 hour a day maybe a bit more during the week (depending on the patrol day i had), and on RDOs its sporadic but could be 2 could be 4 hours. Thats all throughout the day. Listen like someone said before, people lie and ive spoken to many senior guys, they say the people who talk the loudest usually fail. People expect me to pass but im saying i just go to class and read on my meal. Theyre gauging how much im studying.
Point is- just focus on yourself. Go to class every week or online stick to it. Make it a habit. Like someone said we are all competition but i also dont want people stressing themselves out. Good luck!

I average about 3-4 hours daily sometimes more . Now that doesnt all consist of reading I usually break it up . I do questions when I wake up (about 20) and do another set before bed . When I am reading the material I time myself for an hour might push to an hour fifteen then I give my self a break. The way Ive been studying the material i read the PG at least once , then Ill do the IPE which goes over every procedure for that week in the packet , and lastly I do the live class and take notes on a notebook. I also listen to the live classes on my way to work and back. It sounds like a lot but thats what I do . Every retains the material differently some can read things once and get it. My advice is do whatever works for you ! Good luck guys and gals we got this !!!

Im using Elite , and Im doing Rising Star questions which are not easy at all!! Élites questions arent horrible but they are very wordy ( I dont mind ) but sometimes you do get frustrated reading a long paragraph to answer a simple question. The thing with mikes questions is that he includes the duties of whatever actor . Example : he would ask a question about the desk Officer and in the body of the question he puts some duties of the desk Officer.
