Can anyone confirm a rumor that the list will expire at the 4 year mark? And about what list number will it get up to by the end of the 4 years mark? Thanks

History says in the 800s. I think it may be a bit higher this time around, so I'll say 950-1000.
I'm in the 1060's and I have little faith I'll be getting promoted. Oh well, should've studied harder. Not the end of the world, I'm in a pretty good spot.
This is all based on no insider info whatsover, just history and opinion.

If we go by the average promotions on this list and the fact that there is an active Capt. list it could easily go over 800. I wish GAMBLOR or someone else versed in statistics could put out a more precise number.
Cannot assign a number. Past promotion trends can be used to speculate list that may be able to produce Lts into the 800 range. Several variables should be taken into consideration, new contract, city budget, civilinization of many department functions and positions, etc. there are also the unknown variables, personal/individual factors that will lead to Lts who are eligible for service retirement to remain. We are also seeing a newer trend of mos of all ranks who remain past retirement eligibility. The only thing certain is that higher list numbers should take into consideration the need to study when a new test is announced.

June is the half way point. That should be a good indicator of how many the list will get up to. I think it will do 1000 for sure and we will hit around 600 by the end of the year imo
May will be two years so it list hits 450 by May double that so its 900 but lets not forget the beginning of this list was hitting good because no one was hired for a year . I still think 800 imo
I also think that 800 to 900 would be the maximum number of Sgts being promoted to Lts at the end of the 4th year mark. Unless the commissioner decides to extend the time of the list, most likely the next list from the 2021 Lt exam would be the new hires.
if you have less than 5 years in Lt rank, Lou Turco thinks you dont deserve BWC pay. Hes selling the unborn again just like he gave up those chart days.
Contract negotiations isn't up to the UNIONS, they are by Office of Labor Relations. They set the terms, the unions either give back, or adjust the %'ages to where they can get them to squeeze another %. Example: No raise first 11months, OLR might throw in 1% somewhere else for whatever reason. BWC, they might say ok, we will give you 2% differential. Union says we want 3%, city says OK but not for first 5 years.
It amazes me guys think they know how contract negotiations work, or think the UNIONS have an actual say in the % they actually get. If OLR says 4yr contract for 4%, guess what, that's the base, and your lucky to get 1 or 2% out of that, of course you WILL be giving something back one way or another. Oh yea, the Mayor OK's whatever OLR might bring to the table BEFOREHAND.
Defeatist attitudes like yours are the reason the unions cave to the city and chose not to fight. You sound like a shill for the weak LBA leadership that gave away chart days and is willing to give anything away as long as it benefits their future pensions without worrying about those that are not retiring. The LBA needs new leadership period.
