I heard the same, but I still don't understand how a difference of $400 is going to hold up promotions. Just promote them and make their pay retroactive. I think there's more to the story

Wonder why so quiet .. this was a big meeting today and no information available about it...I think all the people who were called back from mentoring were there... hopefully someone keeps us in the loop
Same reason as stated above, the contract issue. By June 5th, starting pay Captain will be more than top pay Lieutenant, which is not currently the case. At least that's what I heard

Actually the opposite is true.
Current pay: June 5th:
Capt $121,441. $121,441
Lt. $118,902. $121, 874
Next Capt raise is Oct/2017 will put the pay at $124,477.
So if a top pay Lt is promoted after June 5th, that's when there will be an issue. However normally when that issue occurs the job simply puts the promotee into the next pay level (thus why detectives goto top pay sgt upon promotion ).
So I don't believe the delay in this promotional class is due to contract issues, instead I believe the job wants to pace captians promotions in case they again lose their fight with Dcas in regards to the date for the next captians exam.
Contract issue or not, I don't know how that would effect the next promotion exam date. It has happened quiet frequently where a new list was not activated for years. They could still give the test in October and hold it until they exhaust the 2014 list. I am always intrigued at where people get all these rumors from.
I don't think there is an available public school closed on a Wednesday in October.. they would have to use a different test location other han a school... only other free Wednesday is Xmas break and I doubt that... February seems like the best time over president week

who said test must be administered on a Wednesday in a school? I bet less than 500 take the test and the PA has more than enough room to accommodate that.
Maybe they are holding promotions because they can correct the pay disparity after June 5. Maybe if they are promoted before they just have to eat it until October. no intel just a theory
Just wondering is Mentoring and Promotion confirmed for those dates or is this just another rumor?
I was told this is what Roy Richter informed the group of the next class of Captains at 1 PP on Monday. The exact dates I posted is what they were told. As far as the test location, one of the owner's of RS previously stated that DCAS is looking to administer the next test electronically, and they are in the process of picking a site. Therefore, the availability of schools has nothing to do with the exam date. Since the entry PO exam is administered electronically, I'm wondering if that's what they will use. Can anyone advise if the testing locations for the entry PO exam can accommodate 400-500 people?

The next pay raise for Captain is June 24, 2017 - $123,790, not June 5th as I previously stated. As per Roy Richter, that is why they are waiting for the end of June to promote. "To do the right thing by the next class". What the real reason is, who knows.

I don't know where you see that the captain pay raise is on June 24th . I'm looking at the pay grid now sent to me from the CEA directly. the pay raise is indicated as October 1st 2017 2.50 %. Then 3% on same date in 2018. I hope your right though
There is a pay raise in October 2017. But there is also a pay raise on June 24, 2017. I got all of this info from someone who was at the meeting. Take it or leave it porkchop, I'm not the one getting promoted and could care less, lol.
Looks like your right. I didn't see that June 25th raise. This makes sense now as Ive heard that Capt will go to BMOC first then get promoted at end of June and then strait to commands rather then getting promoted before June 25th creating an issue. Thanks for clarifying that

I'm sorry guys but you're misreading the picture in the above link. That document was specifically created for the captains promoted on June 24th 2016. That's why it shows the contractual raises and the tenured raises that will occur every June 24th (Only captains promoted on June 24 2016 will get a raise on June 24th 2017 to 2nd year captains pay of $123,790).
Happy Easter / Passover to all
Does the mentoring start again tomorrow as pereviously posted it is that in hold as well??
Just curious as to the status .. can anyone advise
