Is DCAS required to give you 6 months?

Just like the title says, does anyone know if DCAS MUST give a 6 month window from announcement to exam day?  March is next week so if that's the case aren't we looking at a September exam at a minimum?

You had more than a 6 month window. The finest came down months ago for a July/August exam.

The Jobs finest announcement and the announcement, a.k.a NOTICE OF EXAMINATION, from DCAS are two separate things.  On DCAS'  "NOTICE OF EXAMINATION" they give you dates of when to apply for the exam and then under those dates it's lists the exam date itself.  Typically I've seen a 6-8 month window between the "WHEN TO APPLY" dates and "THE TEST DATE".  Just wondering if they legally have to give you a certain amount of time.  Also it would be nice to know because people like to plan ahead, family functions, vacations, weddings, etc...

If the 2015 Lt exam taught you guys anything its that DCAS beats at their own drum. My only advice is study everything and prepare for the worst come exam day

I think recent history has shown us that this bureaucratic pile of steaming cat poo called DCAS does whatever, whenever it wants. From their top people, to the proctors on exam day, it's a collection of teeth sucking city employees that relish their power over the po-lice.
