What operations orders are testable? How far back?
Prior tests have asked 10-year-old operations order. Technically orders are only valid for one year but for whatever reason DCAS does not agree and rejected protests that tests asked questions on expired orders. I guess you're liable for all operations orders going back to 1978.

From what I rembemebr operations orders are valid for 1 year.. if after one year they are not made into Dept procedure , interim order or finest message than they expire and are not testable. You're right, but that explanation was used to protest several old Operations Orders questions on my captain's test and the questions held up anyway.
You cannot protest the content of the exam. That is why this last TVB was such a cluster. You can only protest the actual question. So basically DCAS could put an Astro-physics question on the test and you can't protest that it shouldn't be on the exam. So any protest that argues that the question should not be on the exam gets thrown right in the garbage.
