Initial take on the classes so far

ok, so i finally had a chance to go to all 3 classes (elite and rising star for lieutenants and key for sgt cram) so here's my take on it.

Rising star live class was a real eye opener. The way they broke down 202, like desk officer was just amazing! I love the approach of patrol guide not just reading it and pointing out the obvious but going right to the tricky procedures. then it's followed by a question that the instructor broke down to show us how we could be tricked. As far as the material go, it has been improved alot. the essential guide is really good. the takeaway notes is well worth the money (along with the breakdown they do in the front which i was told will be for all procedures). Final verdict is these guys are not environmentalist. lol. the amount of tress they kill is ridicoulus. No extra for mailing the lesson is also a plus.

Elite. MIke has alot of energy. It keeps me awake. but the info is something I can read on my own and in light of rising star class going over the material in a much better way I won't be attending his classes. He does get a + for technology AND if your going to live classes there is no reason for you not to go bec he is all over the tri state area. lol. weekend classes night, multiple locations

The key. so so instructions. got hit up for an extra $45 for a patrol guide that is severely outdated since its from looseleaf law. value here is because they seem that they know whats on the test. So it's good to get to know who is going here and find out whats being taught because of their inside information on what will be on the test. Hopefully they have the same insider feeding them info for the leutenants test like they do forr this sgts test.

Overall winner: def, rising star. Since i'm all paid up for all 3 I'd prob do Rising star classes and questions and essential guide (75% of my time). Elite for the tech stuff and online learning (20%) and key to scan what they are teaching and re-read it off of the essential guide (the looseleaf law pg they give you is utter garbage. it will take me forever to update the thing) to take advantage of their inside info (5%)

Thanks for the info.  Regarding Risingstar, can you advise if the wording in the Essential Guide is verbatim to the actual Patrol Guide?  Or do they break it down in their own words in a different way?  As we all know, the test questions will be word for word out of the Patrol Guide.

It is word for word the patrol guide. Even the numbering. So if you go through it and the ops. coordinator is steps 1-3 then Perssonnel bureau is step 4 them ops. coordianator is step 5 it will look like ops coordian steps 1, 2, 3, 5. They will put a note like step 4 personel Bureau omitted. also in the additional data if it says something like personnel bureau will ensure xxxx they will shade it gray. anything in their words will have little stars or will be on the bottom  they  Call take aways   Which summarizes the procedures.

I was at their Brooklyn class yesterday. I was impressed. It was really good, well put together and just...different. These guys are the real deal. I'm just disappointed that they're not doing a live capts class.
