How many classes left for 2012?

How many classes do you guys think they will put in up to and including December?  Don't include June in your answer because we already know it is going in.  We have July August September October November and December as the wildcard months.  I'm thinking about 2 classes... maybe 3.

Pessimistic outlook mate! I would say three at the worst, five at best (they will skip at least one or two months, July probably). I guess I'll go with four classes left not counting the May and June classes. An academy class is about to graduate, more recruits going in, decent amount of Safe Streets guys retiring. Definitely think it will be more than two.

My source tells me about 3 or 4more BMOC classes but all will be 50 at a clip. As i been stating before, the demand for sgts is declining so the need for anymore large BMOC classes is on the decline as well. Attrition is doing a number on the NYPD head count and this current academy class is not even putting a dent in the attrition rate.
50 x 4 = 200 more names for the 2012 year.

I partially agree with you Simply. I believe the frequency of classes will halt.

I say 2 more classes left and they will be at 50. Why? My precinct is a busy house in Brooklyn and we do not need anymore Sgts.

The same is true at my buddies command in BN. All those Sgts from the 1992 class who were going to retire have already taken terminal leave and have returned.

No Sgt from the 1992 class is leaving at my command hence the full compliment of Sgts is attained here. I suspect the same is most likely in other commands.

This list will be drawn out and many of us will sweat it out.

"Simply" you realize that will mean they promote 325 off this list in 8 months total if they do 4 more classes. That's definitely not a sign of attrition. 50 people a class is not considered small. And you should always expect bigger classes when academy classes graduate. So come December or January expect 75 again. Honestly I can see this list being made in 3 years in full. Just my opinion. No source.

I'm in BMOc now and the Lt thinks there will only be 3 more left. Says things are about to slow down a bit.

Most likely 2-3 classes left. The end of the year is always when things slow down the most.
