I'm wondering if reading the patrol guide was neccesary, I read the damn thing 1x and I read theKey handouts several times at least 5x, but now after the exam I'm thinking that I did not need to read the patrol guide. It seems it was a waste of time, especially for this exam. I think If I wouldve concentrated on the handouts I would have scored better. I'm still have regrets on reading 212 that section was so damn long. I wanna know guys that scored high, how you guys studied patrol guide or mainly handouts? I'm at 78 so far
I think reading the whole guide once helps. You can eg pick up things the packets leave out. Maybe cause everyone is saying this test was very straightforward, and hit the meat & potatoes, it seems unneccesarry, but you have no way of knowing that, and reading the whole guide will normally help you pick up a few points.
I read and made notes on the guide once and then used academy questions and borrowed 2 cram packets. I felt that it's important to read the guide as a whole because at the end of the day you have no idea if the test is gonna be straightforward or full of curve balls and if you've at least read everything once you give yourself more of a fighting chance.
Also I wasn't really a fan of the key packets, I thought the material was poorly set out with too much stuff crammed on each page and some factual inaccuracies which is inexcusable to me.
