There is usually a Lts test every 4 years. The last was given in the fall of 2006. I am hoping I am on the mark with it being given again in the fall of 2010. Good luck - God Bless.

hey many...uh I mean "JOSE" who cares when the lt test is. try worrying about getting promoted, getting ur feet wet in the new rank and surviving probation b4 asking such a question!!
Lets see there are over 1100 people still on the current list and a lts list has never been killed with elig. people on it. Still a long way to go b4 you start thinking bout lt.

the previous lt's list had a cut off score of 81, i don't think the dept is going to kill itself to get to people with 70's. i doubt they will get through 1100 names in 4 years on a lt's list. Fall of 2010 sounds about right to me. But that's a long way away and a lot can change in the meantime.
The department is not going to get to every name on the current list. The big difference between the current list and prior lists is that now anyone with a 70 or above makes the list. In prior lists, the length of it was determined by the anticipated vacancies. That is why they never killed those lists. In theory you can now have 3000 people get over a 70 and all of them will be on a list. They will never promote that many. The department wants only the people with top scores now. With the big economic slowdown, people losing jobs and the fact that the rank and file have gotten some decent raises in recent times, people are not going to leave like they use to, especially at the LT rank. The only reason why everyone made it on the last list, was because the people on the back end were only there because they did not recieve the city residency points. You can also factor in the fact that it was one of the highest scoring exams in recent times. The job made an exception and went beyond by going way over budget to get those people in. They won't do that for people with 70's, you can bet your bottom dollar on that.
