I BELIEVE THAT THE 2007 EXAM WAS MUCH MORE DIFFICULT THAN THE 2008 EXAM. FOR THOSE THAT FEEL DOWN (AS I DID) WHEN FAILING AN EXAM, I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO GET YOURSELF UP!!!!
i never looked at it that way...good point...that question about the girls that got robbed and the arson in the building was confusing as hell....do you think that perhaps they are toning down on the exams?
I heard the exams in the past was very difficult ,I honestly don't know , because the 08 test was the first in my whole career. the test a couple of years ago when a majority of the people on the exam was promoted , but got 40's and 50's on the exam;it's a damn shame
I would like to say congrats to those who past. To compare 2007 to 2008 exam is not difficult but to say one was easier than the other I dont agree with. I took both and found major differences. 2007 - More questions on in basket, and questions that you were more prepared to answer if you took the classes like property, juveniles, missing, and all that good stuff. 2008 less questions on in basket which now makes it more challenging because you have to know the patrol guide to answer the rest of the questions. The questions did not focus on those questions your prepared to answer. Instead they asked a lot of questions that if you didnt read the guide you were screwed. More people may have seemed to pass because more people to the test. They don't base these test on a curve like test taken in the past which is why these test are just as difficult or more difficult to pass. The majority of people scored in the 70's so if this was a past exam where it was based on a curve that would be like getting a 90. People who say it easier is only because you studied harder this time. Im sure if you asked anyone who failed they would think differently.
i agree with mtn....the people that say it was easy are also the ones who say " I got a 50 without putting 100 percent effort into studying, if i would have studied harder i would have passed." Which i find to be bull****, because those are the same people who i saw breaking their asses for 6+ months, coming to and leaving from work with the patrol guide in their hand every day.
The test are not going to be downgraded. They will continue to give them every year to get the people they need. In the past you were able to get promoted with 3yrs as a cop before you get promoted. Who knows maybe they will bring that back since people with 5 yrs or more are not really taking the test or just cant pass it.
